September 8, 2017: Week 1 Bears vs Falcons

posted in: Bears | 1

When I woke up this morning, and saw that New England had lost yesterday, I felt a little better.  I felt like, maybe this IS the year I break out of my football funk.  With the season starting off with one of the teams I hate the most losing, it’s the first positive step.  Where do we go from here?

We look forward to Sunday, and as I do every Friday before the start of Bears season, I picked out my 34 jersey to wear to work.  Regardless of how down I’m feeling about the Bears, I’m still there with them; they are my team.  The excitement that I felt when Cutler left, the excitement I felt when I saw Trubisky play, has now been replaced with a not so excited feeling of watching Glennon lead our team.  Still, I will give him a chance…

Although, I’m ready to see our future now… not hang out in some transitional place.  I’m ready for the Bears to be good again; it’s been too long.  Will it even matter who is at QB, at least for this year?

I DO think it matters.  Besides being the most important position in football, and although our WRs aren’t anywhere near great, with the OL, the running game, and the expected to be much improved defense, I DO think having Trubisky in there will make a difference… THIS year.  No year should be wasted in the NFL, because you never know what could happen.

I wonder how the Falcons feel about their year last year, after historically blowing the Super Bowl.  I can only harness the feeling that I had when the Bears lost the Super Bowl, although they didn’t blow the game… they just got beat.  How will they bounce back this year?

The quality of video and computer games has improved rapidly from the early, 2D “platformers”, both in terms of the technological determinants such as the graphics, speed and smoothness of the simulation, and of the overall content of games, with strategy and problem solving augmenting, or in some cases replacing, simple repetitive reflex testing. tadalafil 20mg no prescription Due to aphrodisiac cute-n-tiny.com cialis price properties it increases sperm count naturally. I think they will be fine actually.  I think Atlanta will be right back in the playoffs this year; they will be right back in the discussion for the Super Bowl again.  I think they will be playing with some more purpose, maybe a bit of anger; I just don’t think that will show in this week’s game against our Bears.  I wish them luck this year, but not this week against our Bears.

It is our home opener after all.  Glennon has played against the Falcons before.  And just the fact that we have our future (hopefully) on our team right now, should bring some good mojo… at least in Week 1… at least in my head.

Final Score Prediction:  Bears 27 Falcons 24

Ace In The Hole:  Jordan Howard 150 yds from scrimmage and 2 TDs

And although Julio Jones may have his way with the Bears secondary, the Bears front 7 will put enough pressure on Matt Ryan to neutralize that.  He will hit for a big play or two, but a couple big sacks, couple big hits, and a fumble will wash that out.  The defense will play one of its best games of the entire year today.  And our bell cow Jordan Howard will do some work.  It’s nice to have another option at RB with Cohen, but let’s not forget who the man is.  He will show it, and the Bears will win this game.  Bear Down!

Although this pick is coming after the fact, I had the Bears losing this game. Thought it would be a close one, though, and turned out to be a 1 score game with the Bears having a shot to win it…go figure. Oh well, more to come on the post-game analysis, but for now, I do think the Bears are going to be better this year. Will that translate into a better record than 3-13? I think so. The Bears have more talent on D to go along with a solid offensive line and 2 running backs who can do some things. Unfortunately, the qb positions is stagnant with Glennon, and whoever ends up playing qb will have a receiving corps that may be the worst in the league…pretty sad. Oh well, the turn around has to start somewhere. Take the week 1 L and build on it boys! BEAR DOWN!!!
