September 7, 2015: Pick 2015

posted in: Bears | 4

It’s that time of year again. Let’s pick the 2015 Chicago Bears record. Week by week we’ll go. Last year was an absolute train wreck. I’m not even sure if I got any right. This year, we’ll try to be better, although I wouldn’t mind if I was wrong…very wrong.

I have a lot of faith, trust me. I just don’t think we’re very good this year…I don’t think I’m alone. Last year I was full of Kool aid. This year I’m sticking to water. Here’s the ugly reality:

Week 1 vs Green Bay:  Last year I picked the Bears to win both times. I always pick against the Packers, but I’m going to try to be as realistic as possible here. There’s no way the Bears win this one… That’s why they will.  WIN

Week 2 vs Arizona:  Another home game and we’re talking super bowl after beating the Pack in week 1. Yeah. Back down to earth in crashing fashion with a big fat flop in this one. LOSS

Week 3 at Seattle:  You honestly think that the Bears led by Cutler will go cross country and beat the defending NFC champs in their house?  Remember that preseason game last year I think?  Yeah, I know preseason don’t mean a thing, but in this case, it was just a glimpse of what’s going to happen this week. LOSS

Week 4 vs Oakland:  Three out of four at home to start the season. You would think that’s a good thing. If there’s any game we can count on winning this year, it’s this one, right?  I may be in attendance if my buddy gets his airline ticket into town for this one. Last time we were at a Bears Oakland game, Bears won a snooze fest 16-6 I think. This one will be more like a shoutout. WIN

Week 5 at Kansas City:  First Seattle and now here?  Two of the roughest away venues for our first two road games equals two losses in our first two road games. LOSS

Week 6 at Detroit:  There’s one thing you can count on, and that’s the Liones being the Lions. WIN

Week 7: BYE. If you’d tell me the Bears would be 3-3 at this point I’d be very happy. Post bye games are winnable. Could this Bears team be better than expected?

Week 8 vs Minnesota:  Coming off the bye, division opponent at home. We should take care of business, but we don’t. Peterson runs wild… I see the headline now. LOSS

Week 9 at San Diego:  The only prime time game for the guys this year. Can we get our first road victory?  Yes. WIN

Week 10 at St Louis:  This game will be played in St Louis, but there may be more Bears fans in attendance.  WIN

Week 11 vs Denver:  How many ex Denver guys do we have on our team?  Will Peyton make it through this year?  I’m hoping the coaches can provide an edge in this one, knowing the Broncos very well. WIN

Week 12 at Green Bay:  Thanksgiving night. Favre jersey getting retired. If you think we had no chance in week one, then we shouldn’t even suit up for this one. Ok, I give in. LOSS

Week 13 vs San Francisco:  You see how many guys this team lost in the offseason?  Ok, after the raiders, maybe even more than that game, this should be a W. WIN

Week 14 vs Washington:  With Kirk Cousins leading the way the Redskins are undefeated coming into this one…not!  WIN

Week 15 at Minnesota:  Losing both to this division rival will haunt us as the Bears late season collapse begins.  LOSS

Week 16 at Tampa Bay:  Another division game… Oh wait, it’s 2015 McFly!  Lovie and his band of merry ex Bears spank us in a game we really needed. LOSS

Week 17 vs Detroit:  The collapse is complete as we out choke the lions in this one as a pick 6 cutler late Xmas gift puts a bow on the Bears season and his Bears career.  LOSS

8-8?  Really?  Going game by game the schedule isn’t too bad. If we could survive early and not choke down the stretch which has been our MO lately, this could be a better than expected season. If Cutler could have a career year, you know the ones we expected out of him regularly, it may be ok. If this young defense in the first year of the new 3-4 scheme could be average, this could be good. Yeah, and if the 85 Bears came on the field walking out of the Delorian, we could go back in time 30 years. Let’s just be happy with 500. Just think, cutler will be gone, and the young defense will be that much better next year.  Who really knows what the heck is going to happen this year, but please feel free to take your best guess. 6 days from the start of another one.  Bear Down!

Put down the Kool-Aid boys. This is going to be a BAD season. With the CBC taking snaps and nothing looks good. I foresee more INJs to key players, IE Forte, Jefferies and CBC 5-11, Fox can’t work miracles!
