September 5, 2015: First in Fantasy

Ok, so I gotta take a second to pat myself on the back. I’ve finished the season in first place in fantasy baseball.

Yeah, you don’t care, but I do. It’s a long season, and unlike football, it’s an every day thing. I should be playing for more than the measly 20 bucks.

It’s the opposite of my recent football performance. I’ve talked about the horrible draft I had. On the flip side, my baseball draft was really impressive. I only made one trade all year, which is a little disappointing because I love to trade. I’ll make it up in football, because I didn’t need to in baseball.

I finished in first place with the most points in the league. That’s good for $40. The big money is still out there. With a first round bye, one win gets me in the championship game.  It’s not over yet.

I need to out score my opponents two more times or the season is done. I’ll spend the bye week preparing for the semifinals.

I want to check out draft kings. Man are they advertising the heck out of it. It’s a form of gambling, let’s be honest. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it made illegal at some point. This is the reason why I’ve been instructed to stay away from it. Yeah, I have the gambling bug. We try to keep that locked up.  One trip every 6 months to the casino gives me my fix.

But don’t worry, I will not be writing a fantasy feature this year. I may pick some NFL games against the spread though. That may help give me a fix too, although if I start winning my picks….  We’ll just keep it in my blog.

This run in baseball this year is another reason why I’m not quite ready for football. Yes, the Cubs too have got my attention.  We’ll make room for football don’t worry, and we’ll leave fantasy out of it… After this.  After I recognize Curse Busters, first in fantasy again.
