Whether we’re ready or not, football season is about to begin. Most years it’s a no brainer; this year, not so much.
I love football, but I’m not ready… not yet. I’m too damn busy first of all. I already documented how disappointed I am in my fantasy team. I did make a few acquisitions since then that may be OK, but overall, it might be a long year. Although with my fantasy football record lately, maybe this will mean good things. I haven’t done much research at all on the upcoming season. The one story that seems to never die is this whole deflate gate thing.
Who the heck really cares? I don’t. I don’t doubt the Patriots did something to gain an edge; they’re a bunch of cheaters. Yet, the way Goodell is running the NFL is messed up; he thinks he has all the power… somebody needs to check him. I’m not a big Brady fan, so I didn’t care if he got suspended, although I was rooting for them against the Seahawks last year. But it’s the NFL, it’s the Patriots, and it’s Brady, so of course it’s a big deal. Gag me.
I might have to say the same about the Bears this year. With no healthy WRs going into the start of the season, the offense looks to be in trouble. Cutler isn’t going to make anyone better. The OL is solid, but has very little depth. Old standby Forte is still there, but we need these WRs back as soon as possible.

I don’t know what to say defensively. I was kind of shocked when they cut Jennings. Not that I was a big fan, but who else we got? I’m glad that Mel Tucker is long gone, as I believe Vic is a big upgrade there, but do we have enough talent? I will say this. The defense has gotten a lot younger. This bodes well for the next few years possibly, but may still mean rough things this year.
We jump right out too… against the Pack. Yes, they’re without Jordy, but we know Rodgers will make somebody else a star. That’s what good QBs do.. it pains me to say. It could be ugly right out of the gate… and then the Cardinals, and then Seattle. Things could get really ugly quick. That reminds me, I didn’t do a game by game predictor this year. I’ll roll that out this week…
Because NFL season is upon us. Screw it, start me up… bring it on. I keep telling myself it can’t be worse than last year. It’s time to Bear Down.

Lot of question marks this year for the Bears, and that usually does not mean good things. If it is going to be another rough year, let’s at least start it right by beating the pack. Yes, jordy is out but rodgers is all they really need. Pressure on him will be the key. New season, new coaches, new system, new hope…BEAR DOWN!!!
