I know I didn’t think that the Bears would be coming into this game with an 0-3 record. I also didn’t think the Lions would be favored in Soldier Field. I don’t know what to think.
For those of us who don’t remember, the Lions… this crappy ass franchise that we can always pencil in a W for… has beaten the Bears 6 straight times. The last time the Bears beat the Lions, Lovie Smith was head coach. The day after that game, Lovie was fired. If that isn’t an indicator that things suck right now, I don’t know what is. Oh, hold on, I have another. The last time the Bears have won at home was… anybody, anybody… October 4th of last year. What that means is if the Bears don’t win this week, they will go more than a full calendar year without a win in Soldier Field. A couple more… the Bears haven’t scored 20 points in a game yet, and they own the NFL’s worst point differential. Yeah, somebody tell the Bears it isn’t preseason any more.
To see the Lions favored by 3 points makes me sick… and it also makes me think the Lions will pound us. Why wouldn’t I think that? What have the Bears proven this year? I cannot pick them again this year until they show me something. I really hope this is the week.
Hoyer will be at the helm again. He seemed to get better as the game went on last week, or maybe that was just because we were down by so much and the defense was more conservative. Who knows? And now, Langford is out… I like what I’ve seen from Howard so far; I guess we’ll see how he does with an extended role. I sure did make that waiver pickup in my fantasy league… and I am starting him this week. Alshon is on the injury report again too. He seems to be a constant on that list; just another reason why it was good we franchised him this year. And Kevin White… Zack Miller played good last week, when will White step up. He did make that nice catch, and celebrated the hell out of it, but we were down 2 TDs. I hate when guys celebrate a catch or first down when the team is down. Get back to the huddle ASAP… regardless of how nice the catch was, there is still a lot of work to do. No time to celebrate. Maybe I’m just irritated in general…

That’s what this Bears team has been good at; irritating the hell of their fan base. Yet, 12pm rolls around on Sunday, and there I will be… plopping on that couch, tuning in to another rough 3 hours… hoping, that maybe this will be the week where we break into the win column. I don’t think it’s going to happen… not this week…maybe not this year.
Final Score Prediction: Lions 27 Bears 21
Ace in the Hole: Jordan Howard 100 yds 2 TDs
Sorry… have to pick against them again. Last week, I actually hit the final score on the head; first time I’ve ever did that. I’m pretty proud of that, although I wish it happened in predicting a Bears win. Hope I’m wrong this week… maybe I flip flopped the scores… that would work. Give us something Bears. Give us something to work with. Bear Down already.

HAHAHA
Oh wait, I already watched the game and that is what happened! A Bears victory! Missed the first half and saw the second half. Bears D did what they have been…bending and not breaking most of the time. Plus, they got a few turnovers, which never hurts. Finally, the Bears are in the win column…BEAR DOWN!!!
