September 23, 2018: First Place

posted in: Bears | 0

As the results of Sunday’s early games rolled in, we knew a Bears victory meant something that we haven’t seen since 2013: first place!  Surely the Bears would come out and wipe the field with this Cardinals team.  We knew better.

Well, knowing recent history better meant that our Bears would lose this game and miss out on that elusive first place in the standings.  The difference this time around is that we won the game.  I don’t care how ugly it was, a win is a win is a win.  Winning a game in the NFL isn’t easy; I don’t think there will be any easy games for our Bears this year, but that’s ok.  This is going to be a good year.

We all felt that, right?  We knew the Bears would be much better than we’ve seen for a while.  We knew the defense would be good, but when we scored Mack…our defense just got bumped up to elite.  He makes everyone better.  He is an absolute animal.  He’s the perfect combo of strength and speed.  Stop me if I’ve already said this stuff.  This may turn out to be one of the best acquisitions in Bears history.  The Raiders loss was our gain…big time.  With Mack, our defense is better than any of us expected.  They’ve reached this level sooner than projected; the spotlight is on Trubisky and the offense.

We’re too used to this: a dominant defense and an underperforming offense.  Needing our defense to play at a high level every single game.  Wasting the prime years of our top defenders.  It’s no wonder the microscope is already out, and apparently time has run out on Trubisky and the offense.  I think it’s a bit ridiculous.
It does this by permitting a levitra ordering more prominent blood stream into the penis when sexually stirred and serving to keep up an erection. All around the world ED has been a major reason for various complications davidfraymusic.com levitra no prescription in their life. If it does go to court, your case could go overnight viagra to a federal court as it is a violation of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution to deny a special needs child their right to an education. Later, it may be harder to get and maintain an erection cialis tadalafil uk though rebuilding blood vessels in the penis to increase their size which causes erection.
It’s game 3 folks…new coach, new offense, new WRs.  If you can peg Trubisky at this point, you should be working for an NFL team.  Who out of us is smart enough to make that assertion?  With all of our extensive experience with top notch QBs in Chicago, how do we know what one looks like?  But we know what a sucky QB looks like and that is Mitch?  He may be that guy, but to peg him now is crazy.  Yet, that’s all I see when I read about the Bears.  The impatience around Trubisky and the offense; can we just take a step back for a minute?

What were you expecting this year?  For all the talk about the Bears being better, I didn’t see many playoff predictions.  Yet, at this point in the season, game 3, we can imagine it…and we know that without a much better Trubisky, we won’t go far, if we even make it.  That wasn’t what this year is about.  I know, we can’t waste any opportunity, because we may not get another, but…for some reason, just like after that tough loss in week 1, which I compared to the 2015 Cubs losing in the NLCS, I feel like we’ve only just begun.  This is the start of something.  We are on the ground floor.  The window is just starting to open.  Maybe it will open up more than we thought this year, and maybe that makes us nervous about Mitch’s performance, but let’s just see how this plays out.

Enjoy this.  Can we do that without thinking we know what Mitch is?  I can.  Yeah, he’s not there, for sure, but we’ve got ways to go here.  He’s not a multi year veteran with a loser mentality and zero leadership ability that we’re about to waste the next bunch of years on; been there done that.  This is not that.  We need at least a couple years to find out.  Let’s live in the moment.  First place baby!  Bear Down!
