The Bears are not in last place in the NFC North. The Bears bounced back after their week 1 bust to even up their record at 1-1. They won a game they were supposed to win. It feels good; about damn time.
Where do we go from here? I asked that question after last week; the answer would tell us more about this Bears team than what we learned in the loss. So I ask it again; how will they respond to a win? The NFL is week to week like no other sport. They are the king of over reactions, like this Mahomes guy; just hand him the MVP after two games. Dumb ass Collinsworth said the loss set back the Bears 100 years…so much for that. It’s important to take care of business week in week out, but then it should shift immediately to what’s next. This is only the start of things, right?
Mack was back to being a wrecking ball in this one. The Bears defense looked great, although Seattle is a bad team, besides their 4th quarter king Russell Wilson; how’d that work out tonight bro? Ask Prince. The Bears will get another chance to flex their muscles next week in Arizona. I’m not so worried about the defense, especially with Mack; thought Roquan was good today too. Mack will make everybody better. What about our offense?
This will be the question all year. Mitch will be looked at with a microscope, especially if this defense keeps playing at a high level. In his 2nd game in the new offense, Mitch took some more chances. He made some throws (the Miller TD) he missed some throws (Gabriel down field) and he threw some he shouldn’t have (red zone near pick). I like the protect the ball Trubisky; I don’t mind the occasional pick, but that throw in the red zone…whew, glad that wasn’t picked. As Mitch grows in this offense, I really think Nagy needs to lean more on the running game. Love that long drive…the short passing game is fun too, but…if I’m the other team, I’m loading up the box, stopping the run, and blitzing Mitch until he makes them pay. He will…eventually…he’s not there yet. When will he get there?

Like I said, Mahomes is the flavor of the week, then you have Watson who was the flavor last year; they were both taken after Trubisky in the draft. The comparisons will not stop. I need to see more, period. Oh yeah, and I need to see playoff wins. We have a long way to go there; don’t get bogged down by it. I want to see improvements each week with Mitch in this offense; I may not get that. Baby steps; Monday night was a big win.
Other than them not showing the Urlacher ceremony at half, but instead showed Urban lying and some lame ass musical performance (that was staged big time), didn’t have a lot of issues with the MNF crew. Didn’t necessarily like them, but I didn’t want to kill them like last week with those fools. Maybe the Bears holding on to win helped me not hate them.
Anyways, big win, with another winnable game on deck. We’ve only just begun. Bear Down!
