Well, I started off the same as our Bears on my week 1 prediction. I went against the grain (go figure) and picked the Bears to win.(used my head not just my heart). Hey, it’s not like they didn’t have a chance. You have to figure they have a better chance in week 2, right?
Well, in Vegas, the line sits at 7. The Bucs, playing in their first game, due to Irma’s other plans week 1, in front of their home crowd, although I’m sure there will be plenty of Bears fans in attendance, are picked to easily handle the Bears. I don’t necessarily disagree.
First thing, is that Glennon is still starting. Yeah, yeah, he did OK last week; you can’t pin the loss on him. I’ve heard and read it all. And with the WR corps what they are… and with Kyle Long still not back on the OL… and being his first year in this offense… this sounds familiar doesn’t it? It’s excuse making time for a guy that needs things perfect to have success. It brings back bad memories of another recent QB… yet, I would still roll with Glennon over him…
But, the reason this is a big deal is because we may have somebody on our roster, sitting on the bench, that can actually make players around him better; go figure! He can improvise on offense. He may be able to turn Tanner Gentry into a stud. He can make his own yards scrambling. Hey, at least he’s got a better chance at doing all these things than Glennon does. But for some fricking reason we wait… as if we haven’t waited enough already…
We patiently wait while Glennon is pedestrian on an offense that needs something more. Cohen looks like something more; man that guy took some hits. Hope he keeps bouncing up from those. Even with Jordan Howard, who is questionable this week by the way, Tarik Cohen will get his yards. He may be the Bears best WR right now; no disrespect to Zack Miller. It will be interesting to watch the offense operate this Sunday. Maybe Tanner can help us… he certainly cannot hurt.

On the other side of the ball, besides one bad play, the defense played admirably. Something tells me they will be very good this year. Something tells me they will not be good this week. I do have a feeling we may get a good special teams play…
But it won’t be enough. I hope I’m wrong again this week, and no, I’m not trying to play reverse psychology; I just don’t think Glennon’s return to Tampa will help anything at all. The only silver lining of another loss is one week closer to seeing the chosen one start… at least that’s what we’re hoping.
Final Score Prediction: Bucs 23 Bears 16
Ace in the Hole: Connor Barth 3 FGs
You know if the kicker is your MVP for the day, there are problems. I remember when Robbie Gould and Brad Maynard were our best players for so long…. thankfully, that’s not the case nowadays. I believe Howard will play; he’ll get in the end zone. I believe Cohen will get his touches, but he will be contained. I believe Glennon will be just OK again. I wish I had a better story to tell you. I hope I’m wrong. Bear Down!

Bears 27-24…game comes down to the wire. The bucs tie it late, but barf kicks the game winning field goal after a long kick return puts the Bears in position. Think Cohen has 150 total yards and another td. If Howard plays, 100+ on the ground and a td. Glennon throws a td and a td to the bucs, and the D plays well again. Bears win a close one and get to 1-1.
BEAR DOWN!!!
