October 9, 2018: Missing the Drama

posted in: Cubs | 0

I’m not one for the drama.  I like to be stress free; I try not to worry about stuff.  What good is it?  Life is too short.

Now when it comes to my sports teams, I love the drama.  Reason being, is that the real drama only comes in a big situation; the game that you want to be playing in.  It’s the game that is for all the chips; it’s postseason action.  I’m sitting here tuning into the end of the Red Sox Yankees Game 4, and I’m missing the drama.

I turned it off for a minute, to watch some 2016 Cubs highlights… no joke.  I found something on YouTube that had Game 7 in 30 minutes; perfect.  I was going to write about that… and I will… but back to the game at hand.  I turned it back on, and there were 2 on and 1 out for the Yankees, bottom of the 9th, Red Sox up 4-1.  It wasn’t a series deciding game for the Yankees, but it was for the Red Sox; of course it would come down to this.

The fans were going bananas.  Kimbrel, with his right arm hanging down before making every pitch, seemingly had lost control.  A walk loaded the bases; a HBP brought a run home.  4-2 Red Sox.  Next up was Sanchez.

So, it is very easy to get viagra france pharmacy deeprootsmag.org the ED medicine. These supplements are far more effective and strong and lets a person face better erections after the intake of Forzest. on line cialis shop at shop Sometimes, lower dosage and undertaking a particular exercise may sildenafil online india get you a solution for this problem. Thereafter the medicine has gained popularity and was soon developed into a great success because of cialis online pharmacy its effectivity in treating erectile dysfunction. Kimbrel came with the high cheese, and went up 0-2.  Then he tried getting him with the slop; no dice.  He tried the high heat again… very high heat, and Sanchez fouled it off.  That high fastball, if it happened to come down a bit, may be trouble.  It reminded me of when guys try to get Baez with the high heat; if they don’t get it high enough on him, he hits it a long way.  Kimbrel came down with it, and Sanchez hit a towering drive… caught at the warning track.  I thought he had it.  Still a productive out, now 4-3 Boston.  Up next, Gleyber…

I saw Chapman in the Yankees dugout earlier this inning, and now, the guy we traded for him back in 2016, is up with the game on the line.  I had a good feeling about Torres; I thought he would come through.  When he hit the slow roller, I thought for sure he would beat it out.  I guess he’s not that fast.  Game over; Red Sox moving on.  The final four is now set.

So yeah, see, I miss this drama.  Still can’t believe the Cubs aren’t playing…  That’s why I had to go back to the archives and watch some 2016 footage.  It was brilliant of course.  Stuff that I remembered… stuff that I didn’t remember.  I mean, talk about drama; I don’t think THAT game can be topped for me.  Another Super Bowl for the Bears, sure.  Game 7 for the Bulls and/or Hawks, of course.  But THAT game… with everything leading up to it, both coming back from 3-1 and the 108 years of nada… don’t think it will ever get topped.

Missing the drama?  Let’s relive it for a minute.  Let’s go there next.

The gleybar groudout to end the game reminded me of the Cubs winning game 7 on a similar play. This play only meant that the red sux would be moving on while the yanks go back to the drawing board to spend more money. Gonna have to check out that 2016 game 7 in 30 minutes…pretty damn cool. If only there was more Cubs baseball this year. It really sucks to win 95 games and lay 2 eggs in games to decide their future. 2016 eases the pain without a doubt. It is easy to fall back on that W and watch highlight after highlight. I agree that nothing will ever top it. Yes, another title by any of the Chicago teams, especially the Bears will come close, but 2016 will always hold that special meaning. Relive it? Sure, let’s do it!
