October 8, 2021: Week 5 Preview Bears at Raiders

posted in: Bears | 2

Viva Las Vegas! There always seem to be a lot of people from Chicago in Vegas; this weekend may break a record. With the Bears making their inaugural visit to the Death Star to play the Raiders, I have a feeling that there may be a few Chicago fans in attendance as the late game kicks off Sunday afternoon. Last week, as the Raiders took on the Chargers in LA, it certainly looked like a home game for the Raiders NOT the Chargers. I think this week the tables get turned on the Raiders. Bears fans represent!!!

I like the Raiders; they don’t bother me. I went to see the Bears play in Oakland; that was fun. You know, Raiders fans are crazy; I like crazy fans. Now if I got my ass kicked out there, maybe I’m singing a different tune… haha. But in general, I love die hard fans; I think there is a pretty big population in the Raider Nation. Yeah, so, I don’t mind seeing them win most of the time; most of the time is NOT this Sunday. This Sunday, I feel about them like I do any Bears opponent: I want to kick their ass.

Papa Vegas, in his hometown, has the Raiders favored by 5.5. What’s up with that five and a hook? That’s always a weird betting number to me. I guess take the points? I’m tempted to get in on some Bears ML action, although as soon as I take action on that, you know I’m destined to lose that bet. Betting with my heart and not my head is my biggest weakness by far. Yet, I can’t stop thinking about how the Bears are going to beat the Raiders straight up on Sunday in Vegas.

Yes, the focus should be there now. No more of this BS back and forth about a healthy Dalton vs our future Fields. The future is NOW people; there is no turning back. There is nothing else holding us back. Well, the fact that Montgomery is out until after the bye week kind of sucks. Yet, I like Williams; I think he will do fine in his role. And then low key, I like Herbert, who will slide into the backup RB role and away from his kick returning responsibilities. Yes, the Bears filled that hole by acquiring Jakeem Grant from the Dolphins; remember him? I do. In the Bears first preseason game, he looked extremely dangerous back there returning punts; in 3 returns, he averaged 16.7 yards. I like this move. When asked about Chicago, the first thing that came to his mind… Devin Hester. Yeah buddy.

Ace in the Hole: Justin Fields 4 total TDs

Yes, no more second guessing; no more worrying about crazy ass Nagy bringing back a healthy retread QB into the starting role. Our path is now clear. Fields is the #1 QB in Chicago, and it feels so good. Now let’s get out there and win some damn games! Bear Down!!!
