Fantasy football is fricking frustrating. I don’t even want to look back at this week, ever. I made the right acquisitions during the week, then chose to play the safe options; no balls man! It cost me a win.
My free agent pickups were Juju Smith Schuster and Travis Benjamin. I had to cover myself at WR, because I wasn’t sure if Diggs was going to play. I even got up early on Sunday and flipped on football to get his status for the London game. He was IN; I still shouldn’t have played him. I had Benjamin in my starting lineup all week, until I switched on Sunday morning. End result: -11.2 fantasy points. What did I lose by? 11.2 fantasy points.
So I cost myself a tie with that move, but wait there’s more. Normally I start Howard and Hyde as my RBs, and use Kamara as my flex. I switched that up this week, putting Howard and Kamara as my RBs, and moving Hyde to flex. The reason I did it was because I was thinking about benching Hyde this week… and inserting Juju. I didn’t… I left Hyde in. End result: -23.6 fantasy points. Now you see why I’m so pissed.
I played the safe route… those damn projected point totals. I should know by now those aren’t the be all and end all. But when you have a guy projected to get so many more points than another, it’s tough to go out on a limb. Ride with the big projected points… play it safe. NO! No, no, no! No more I say.
No, from here on out, I need to trust my instincts… but that’s scary too. So I would have been right THIS week… no guarantee I will be right next week with my roster decisions. I guess that’s the problem when you have a pretty deep team; it forces you to make more decisions. That should be a good thing…

Next week actually won’t be as hard, since I get hit hard with the bye weeks. Not really feeling anybody on the wire this week, so I will keep it moving with my current roster…except a new FG kicker of course. There will be no kicking myself this week… but there’s always the rest of the season for that.
Certainly not out of it, and feeling pretty good about my roster, it’ll be up to the coach to play the right guys from here on out. I’d rather have it in my control than vice versa. So let’s turn this crappy loss into a lesson for the rest of the season.
Forget about the projected points. Go with your gut. Don’t worry about potentially leaving points on the bench, or doing the unpopular roster switch. Look at it, gather some info, and make the best call. Nobody can always be right; I can’t always be wrong either right?
Well, at 3-5 with 5 weeks left to go, I can’t be wrong too many more times. The dream of a fantasy football title took a hit this week, but it’s still possible. Maybe I need to trade away some of that depth… make my decisions easier… No, no, I’m not that stupid am I? Come on Allen Hurns and Matt Forte… maybe Tyler Kroft… I need you this week. Some depth huh? But I’m playing the last place team… shouldn’t matter right? Let’s go Chicago Blitz!!!

I hate having to make decisions on a weekly basis because I can’t stand making the wrong call. That is why I only have 1 qb…no need to go back and forth all week over who to start. Leaving points on the bench sucks, especially when you feel like playing them but don’t. My team finally got back in the win column this week. Time to string a few together. No real tough calls for me to make…just sit back and hope the guys perform. BEAR DOWN!!!
