Welcome back 2015 Chicago Bears. Yeah, it’s only been a one week bye week, but it feels like much more. With the Cubs playoff run, the Bears didn’t seem as relevant. Well, the Cubs are done, and now it’s time to get back to our regularly scheduled blogging.
2-4 so far through the hardest part of their schedule with a brand new coaching staff is not so horrible. It’s not that great, but I’m taking it; what choice do I have. Well, we should be 500 after blowing that game to Detroit the last time these boys were on the field. But there’s always games you should have won that you lost, and there’s always games you should have lost but you won. It should balance out. Where do we go from here?
Back in Soldier Field for starters. Hosting a division foe that is ahead of us. Are the Vikes for real? Sitting at 4-2 thus far, with a young QB, the stud RB back, and a pretty good, young defense, maybe they are. It’s definitely a good test for the Bears. Coming off a bye week means they should be totally prepared in this one, right?
I never understood coming of a bye week and getting pounded, like last year. It’s like, what were you thinking about for two weeks. The Vikings are in our division. They are ahead of us. This is a home game. It should be 110% razor sharp focus on this contest. No excuses. Although I do think Minnesota may be a better team, I like this setup for the Bears. Although there was some other stuff going on…
Like Jay Ratliff. Yeah, I know he changed his name to Jeremiah, so what. He’s still an idiot by all accounts. Threatening to kill everybody, including staff members family, isn’t exactly team building material. They cut him loose. Good riddance. I like it because it sends a message. Yeah, no crazies allowed, but more than that. Ratliff was a pretty good football player, better than much of what the Bears have. But that didn’t matter. Maybe because this case was so extreme there was no wiggle room, or maybe no matter how good you are, if you’re not on the same page, you’re outta here. Got to get this train and everybody on it, going the same direction. I count on the coaches to do that. I think we have the guys who can do that.
Cutler has been better too. He’s still made mistakes, those ones that he can never fully avoid, but he has had some nice moments as well. I am trying really hard to be supportive of the coach killer, now with his 3rd victim. Maybe he can finally pan out? Not likely, but what else we got?

I love how they talk about potentially trading him and not getting more than a 5th rounder. Ha! This guy is one of the best backs in the league. Keep him. Resign him. Let’s have him retire as a bear. If he gives us he hometown discount, why not? He’s back on my fantasy team, so the mojo is back.
