The Cubs did not win the World Series this year, and that sucks, yet, what happened on Sunday night in Los Angeles brought a satisfying end to the Major League Baseball season. I was happy this morning.
I had my checklist… Brewers lose, check. Dodgers lose, check. The fact that Chris Sale closed out the game wasn’t on my list, but that kind of made me smirk too. Yeah, my wife calls me a hater… and she’s right. The second the Cubs were eliminated, I had my list of teams that I was rooting against. I didn’t really build up any animosity towards the Rockies; that was on us. But the Brewers had built up plenty…
I told you I felt dirty rooting for the Dodgers, but I did it anyways. And now, that is all washed away too. Seeing the Dodgers fall flat on their faces two times in a row on the biggest stage… yeah, it was worth it.
The Red Sox really were the best team all year; they deserved it… although the fact that Boston added another title kind of makes me sick too. I would have loved to get a shot at them, but… maybe next year. I don’t mind saying that “next year” as much as in the past, considering 2016. I felt so good this morning that I put my 2016 World Series Champs hoodie on this morning. Watching the Red Sox celebrate yesterday… yes, I left it on for a few… made me smile; it made me remember 2 years ago. There isn’t a better feeling; it’s a much better feeling than the feeling I have now, enjoying the defeat of another team. That doesn’t mean I still can’t enjoy this.

Overdose is strictly restricted and as per a research done, very few companies provide pills with this particular component in their pills. The Brewers can go back in their hole. They had their mojo this year, but now this year is done; they won’t be back. Back towards the bottom of the division ASAP boys. You better make a play for somebody this offseason, because standing pat isn’t going to do. Maybe you guys can go after Machado…
The Dodgers, man, what to say about them. They started like crap, they got hot, and they were the NL champs again. Yet, they couldn’t close the deal. I do feel bad for Kershaw, but other than him… Machado is not coming back. Not sure the status of the rest of their team, but… they better plan on spending another 100 million bucks to get over the hump… not that we don’t know anything about that… haha. Winning it all makes it all worth it; they don’t know that feeling yet… maybe they never will.
Then there was Chris Sale coming in to get the final 3 outs. I wonder how White Sox fans felt. Trading away one of the best pitchers in the league, and seeing him do THIS with another team. That’s got to sting. I guess we can relate seeing Maddux win his; I don’t know. I was happy for Greg… maybe too young to get pissed. But how the heck can you trade Chris Sale? He’s going to get another big contract after this one. Maybe he’ll come back to Chicago? The Cubs that is… haha. That would be even worse than seeing last night… Poor Sox fans… there’s always 2005… the rebuild will enter year 14 next year by the way…
Now the offseason can begin. Where will Bryce go? Did Machado hurt himself with this performance? How will the Cubs get rid of some of the dead weight on their roster? How much money will we spend on payroll this year? Will this be Joe’s last year (I hope not)? Glad to finally close the book on this season; it was a fun, but disappointing year with a satisfying end. Now, let’s look ahead to 2019… the year the Cubs win their next World Series. Go Cubs!

Watching the dodgers fall flat again in the world series is satisfying. They got there two years in a row but could not close the deal. They get no sympathy from me. What is next for them? Who cares.
As for the red sux, yes, they were the best team all year long and deserved to win. Out of the teams left playing, they were the one I wanted, but that was really a forced choice. So enjoy this one boston but do not get comfortable. Too many talented teams in the AL, plus the Cubs will be back next year. Yes, next year takes on a whole different meaning since the Cubs actually won it all in 2016. Saying next year really does mean that the Cubs will be back again going for a 5th straight playoff appearance. WOW, when was the last time that happened? Never? Many changes to come for the Cubbies, but I trust Theo and Joe will put them in position again. From there, hopefully the talent takes over like it did in 2016! GO CUBS GO!!!
