October 27, 2023: Week 8 Preview Bears at Chargers

posted in: Bears | 0

Week 8 already? Where has the time gone… Typically this is the halfway point of the season, but with the bye weeks added decades ago, and now, the 17th game, it’s just short of halfway. What have we learned so far about our boys? Well, one thing is that they can still break our heart like always… but when they do win, and yes, we do have two of them, well, these are the payouts for us die-hards. Yes, we want a championship, but it’s much more than just that. It’s the weekly gifts we get when the Bears win… I typically don’t care about gifts, but in the case of my sports teams, I’m one greedy MFer. Yes, I want more… more… more!!! Will the Bears deliver us another gift on Sunday night in Los Angeles vs the Chargers???

This was supposed to be the Justin vs Justin matchup, but only one will be in uniform on Sunday night. The other Justin, our guy, will still be rehabbing his thumb; it would have been nice to see how Fields would have fared on the road in primetime… his game vs the Commanders wasn’t too shabby. Instead, we’ll get to see how proven backup (?) Tyson Bagent does; I almost want to call him Tyler. Did you see the interview NFL Network did with his dad, the professional arm wrestler, over the summer? If you didn’t look it up… now… it’s so good. Anyways, Bagent was good enough for us on Sunday vs the Raiders. Yes, the Raiders are right there in that crappy boat with us, and yes, our defense played their asses off, but… a win is a win; credit due to Bagent, no doubt. How will HE fare on the road in primetime? And for the record, one more time, I’m not a Justin guy or a Bagent guy… I’m a Bears guy… and whoever is playing QB for us, I want to do well, because, well, that will usually mean the Bears will do well, and when the Bears do well, the Bears usually win, so… you follow? I’m not going to root for Bagent to suck because I want people to stop saying he’s better than Fields. I’m not going to root for Bagent to do good because I want Fields out. I’m going to root for the Bears QB, who this week is Tyson Bagent, because I want the Bears to win; it’s not that complicated guys…

Final Score Prediction: Bears 28 Chargers 27

Ace in the Hole: Bagent of course

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice… Who the F am I kidding? I always think the Bears are going to win, that’s why I shouldn’t be betting them! I’ll get fooled over and over and over and over… and over and over. Yes, I’m riding with my team, always; if I pick against them, it’s my attempt at reverse psychology. I can’t wait to sit down on the couch in front of the TV and enjoy this Bears game; I hope they play respectable, and hey, while they’re at it… Bear Down!!!
