That sounds more like a basketball thing than a hockey thing. 3 on 3 was a common halfcourt game on the playgrounds in the summer. Now, it’s the OT format for NHL hockey. Love it or leave it?
For the Blackhawks the last 2 games, it’s definitely love it. Toews scored his first 2 goals of the season during this OT session, both giving the Hawks the 1-0 win. With the talent on the ice, any format really works for us, although the more wide open it is, the better. Getting that initial faceoff is pretty critical. It’s kind of like that OT coin flip in football. Yes, they’ve changed those rules a bit, but it’s like whoever gets the ball first has a significant advantage. Each possession in this 3 on 3 OT period is like a power play.
I guess the whole goal here was to eliminate the shootouts? What was the goal here? 3 on 3 hockey is different, that’s for sure, and I do like it, but… the shootout is awesome. Yes, definitely not a way to decide a playoff game, but for the 82 game regular season, why not? I would imagine most hockey fans love the shootout. Forget 3 on 3, you get to see 1 on 1, with the most talented players in the world. You get to see different trick shots, different approaches. Forehand, backhand flip top shelf. Forehand, backhand, forehand over the left shoulder. Skate up really fast, stop, stick handle, and fire it past a la Patrick Kane. That stuff is cool.
You also get to see some amazing saves. I’m not so sure all the goaltenders are liking the shootout as much. Getting left all by yourself to guard that net against the top players has to be a lonely feeling, although the best should embrace that. Corey Crawford seems to do pretty good in the shootouts. He seems to get extra pumped, and holds down the fort.

They thought that Righraj must buy tadalafil in uk have forgotten but he was very punctual and send the parcel to them on time.
In either case, the losing team still gets a point if the game goes to OT, so the format really is not the biggest deal in the world. But for me, as a fan, I love to see the shootout. So I would have left it the same… 4 on 4 for the five minutes before going to the shootout. With the new format in place, I can’t remember the exact number, but I believe it’s like 75% of the games have ended during that session. So that means 75% less shootouts. I say that’s bad.
But… as long as the Hawks are winning, I really don’t care. Like I said, with our talent, we’re favorites in the 3 on 3 too. With Keith out, it’s not as good, but Toews, Kane, and Seabrook isn’t so bad. The cream rises to the top, and the Hawks are all too familiar with that. It doesn’t surprise me that it was the Captain scoring to end the last 2 games; he’s the best of all when it comes down to winning.
5 on 5, 4 on 4, 3 on 3, shootout… it really doesn’t matter when it comes to our Blackhawks. Winning is the name of the game, and that’s something we do very well in any situation. Yeah, maybe we’ve started a bit slow, but no fear, because here they come…
