October 24, 2018: Zach Against the Tank

I know it was the Hornets, and we were at home, but wins are going to be tough to come by this year for our Bulls.  We were just talking about how it feels like the tank is already on.  After a 0-3 start, and with the injuries already piling up, the outlook was grim.  One guy isn’t cooperating with that though.  His name is Zach Lavine.  He extended his 30 point streak to start the season to 4 games.  Only other Bulls player to do that is… well, the trivia answer to most Bulls accomplishment questions.  Yes, he has looked good, but… he may be fighting a losing battle.  Let’s just call this Zach against the Tank.

Kind of a catchy name…  kind of like a sitcom name…. a comedy of sorts.  Yeah, Zach was at it again vs the Hornets in this one; glad to catch the 2nd half.  It’s not always pretty.. mostly painful watching the Bulls run their complete isolation offense trying to score points, and the hey who got that guy defense, but it’s always fun to win.  It’s also fun to watch guys fly through the air like Zach… so much for that ACL.  I know it’s only 4 games in, and I probably should not even mention those 3 letters, but he’s been the one bright spot this season.  He had an unlikely accomplice in the swatting of the Hornets at the UC.  Yep, it was none other than General Payne, the driver of the tank, that got down to fight against it, at least for one night.

Well, you have to give him props for a great game, but I’m not ready to change the name to Zach and Cam against the Tank.  I still believe Cam will be firmly planted at the wheel of that tank driving the Bulls to last place.  Zach will be the biggest opponent.  If Zach keeps this up, the Bulls may have to make up an injury for him to sit down for a while.  I’m not saying these injuries that have happened are fake, I’m just saying.  And now, after the game, we hear Bobby Portis will be out???

Hey, at least we have the Hornets again this Friday.  I’d bet you that Zach will score another 30, but I’d bet you Payne is going to make 3 or less treys… unless he shoots like 20 of them, which may be what he does after his amazing night.  And you know what, I’d sacrifice the tank for another game, and lay off General Payne, to see him make another round of treys… as long as he’s talking to himself again.  Go Bulls!
