OK, I’ve had it. This season in Fantasy Football has been a rough one so far. At 3-2-1, 3-3, and 2-4, to say it’s been a struggle thus far would be an understatement. Thankfully I squeaked out a 1-1-1 week after Herbert’s last pass in OT on Monday night. The tie was actually a 0.2 win, until Ekeler lost one yard on consecutive carries; unfrickingbelievable. That’s only the tip of the iceberg…
Let’s just start off with my biggest misstep of the year: Dalton Schultz. Not only is he my keeper in one of my leagues, I drafted him in the other two. Yes, I went all in on Dalton this year. Safe to say my TE position has been a train wreck. It started with Dak getting hurt, and then Dalton got hurt. After week 1, when he put up an acceptable 13.20, he’s gotten a total of 0.8. Yes, 0.8 points in the past 5 weeks!!! I finally sat him this last week, and used other options, which also sucked btw. Evan Engram, Will Dissly, and David Njoku helped deliver underwhelming performances this week. It’s going to be tough sledding until Dalton and Dak both get healthy; maybe then, will I allow him back in the circle of trust.
Let’s talk about Chase Edmonds for a minute. Past 2 weeks a total of 5.2 points. 192nd overall ranking. With bye weeks this past week, I ended up starting Tevin Coleman in my flex; yeah, you read that right. That should tell you all you need to know about the shape I’m in with my one team. In my keeper league, I turned in a whopping 86 points this past week. When you can’t even get to 100 total points in a PPR league, the way we count points for our QBs… 10 yards = 1 point, you might as well hang it up. Best thing about this effort, is that it can’t possibly get worse. Coming in at 8th place in that league, I’m one step from becoming a seller… Maybe somebody will want to trade for Myles Gaskin… who I have to keep on my roster for another year after this one… nice.
But, next week is a new week; it could have been worse… I could have went 0-3 this week. So, although I feel like all my teams are hanging by a thread, there still is that thread, and with a couple big weeks, it could help turn this season around. About to scour the free agent wire, trying to come up with the next big thing… or at least somebody who may put up double digits for a week. Maybe it’s time to do a blockbuster trade? Trading one of my best players for a few to strengthen my overall roster. It’s time to do something; certainly just can’t sit here with my thumb up my ass. OK, enough venting… let’s get to it. Good luck!
