The Dolphins… I may have to write a Hate File for these guys. They’re the only NFL team with a better record than the 1985 Bears, and they were the only team to BEAT us in 1985. That was 29 years ago!!! Wow, how time flies… Let’s hope these Fins don’t cause us more agony this weekend at Soldier Field.
To see the Bears put it all together for one Sunday was satisfying. After winning that game in Atlanta, you could hear the entire city saying “Now if only they could play that way EVERY Sunday…” Isn’t that what we expected to see going into this year? Yes, the defense was a wild card going into the year, but I certainly did not expect them to be as bad as last year. The one sure bet was the offense. Year 2 of Cutler and Trestman with the OL intact and weapons galore would lead to 30+ pts per game. Well, that’s why we play the games… We’ve seen flashes… flashes that tease us on how good this team could be. It has to turn into more than a flash, starting in Soldier Field on Sunday.
It’s week 7 and the Bears are looking for their 1st home victory!?!? OK, so we only played 2 games at home so far, but that still sounds bad. On the flip side, that means we have a hell of a lot of home games ahead of us, which SHOULD mean good things for us come 2nd half of the year. There I go again, with that word… should. Let’s take a look at this SHOULD be victory.
Papa Vegas doesn’t make it easy on us though, does he? The Bears are only a 3 point favorite, which really means a PK EM, taking the 3 points away due to home field advantage. So PV, you’re telling me that the Bears and the Dolphins are on even ground? Wow, I don’t believe that, and I certainly don’t think most people across the country do either. Yeah, I know the Dolphins played the Pack well this past Sunday, and maybe that’s why the small line. This line scares me. I was thinking more like 6-7 point favorites…
On offense, there is no reason why we can’t put up some points on this team, right? OK, so the DLine is pretty good over there, and they WILL put some more pressure on Jay, but come on… the Dolphins do NOT have a top tier defense, we’re at home, coming off our best performance of the year. Please don’t tell me we fall flat on Sunday. Please don’t tell me Bad Jay runs out of the tunnel on Sunday. The Dolphins are one of the worst teams covering the TE… Martellus Bennett, come on down!
OUR defensive line played its best game of the year. Yes, it was a bad OL from the Falcons anchored by ex-Bear and current Falcon turnstile Gabe Carimi, but they brought the ruckus. Is there anyone to fear from the Dolphins? Yes, Ryan Tannehill has helped me in my fantasy picks, but I would not rank him as top QB in this league. Lamar Miller, Mike Wallace…. ehhh, not really scared by any of these guys. Stick our DROY prospect Kyle Fuller on Wallace, and call it a day. OK, so they put up a coupleTDs… that should NOT be enough to win this game.
Ahhh, special teams… my favorite unit on ths Bears. Actually, I’m proud of the way they stuffed Hester last week, although teams have been doing that for some time to ol’ Devin. I’ll say what I say every week, and maybe I should just copy and paste it, but… just don’t hurt us guys. Block for our punter, catch the ball, and make the tackles… That’s all I’m asking.

Final Score Prediction: Bears 31 Dolphins 17
The Bears finally put together a dominating performance from start to finish. The game won’t be as close as the final score indicates, as the Fins get a garbage TD late.
Ace in the Hole–> Martellus Bennett 100+ yards receiving & 2 TDs
He’s been relatively quiet the last 2 weeks… he’s back in this one.
Nobody was really close with the final score predictions last week, although we were all RIGHT! As far as the Ace in the Hole predictions, everybody got a piece of that one. I had Jay, Wizzo had BMarsh, Mo had Forte, and Jeffery had Alshon. It was hard to miss that one last week.
Keep them coming, and Bear Down!!!
Drinkin Fortes
Don’t be fooled with my name leading to my Ace in the Hole pick this week…I just couldn’t come up with anything!!!
Bears win this game 35-14
Ace in the Hole will be the special teams…blocked punt and huge return yards on kickoff/punts. Coverage will also be solid. No missed extra points!!!! No stupid penalties…special teams have been sketchy, but this week they put together a superb effort!!!!
Wizzo
Bears 34-20

Mo
