October 16, 2022: No Bears Sunday

A Sunday in October and no Bears football. Sure, we won’t have to deal with disappointment to end our weekend and start our week, but I still missed them. We just got the disappointment a few days earlier this week thanks to another bang-up performance in prime time on Thursday night at home vs the Commanders. What would we do on “No Bears Sunday”???

Well, I’m finally getting around to painting my son’s room. The plan was to do this around his birthday, which was about 6 months ago; not too bad, considering the supply chain delays, etc… haha. We had things that we stuck on the walls, like the Wrigley Field scoreboard for example; when I peeled that off, didn’t exactly peel off smoothly. Had to spackle a bunch after washing the walls, and then tape; it’s ready to paint right now… In between all of this, I was checking in on the action around the league, and of course, one specific game that brought a smile to my face. Of course I’m talking about the Packers Jets game. On a Sunday where there is no possibility of a Bears win, the next best thing is a Packers loss; that was a beautiful thing. After losing to the Giants the week before, the other New York team took their turn beating the Pack up, this time in Lambeau… wow. The Giants have proven themselves to be real thus far, and now the Jets?!? Bad thing is we still have them on our schedule… For all the Bears rebuild stuff this year, and to still be one game behind HOF QB lead Green Bay… simply amazing. Misery loves company; come on down Pack…

That leaves the Vikings in the driver seat in the division. Not exactly a Cousins guy, but with their running attack and defense which seems solid… I still like our chances to get them back one time at home later this year. Long season… many chances to get to that minimum 7 win total for the Bears. It will start next week, which will be another “No Bears Sunday” with a visit to Foxboro on MNF on tap. They got some new dude at QB that is doing well… Zappy or something like that? Not sure if Mac Jones will be back or not, but the Pats looked good this Sunday crushing the Browns… although it was the Browns. Winnable game for us next week? I think so.

Although I think that most of the time. Probably only one game on the schedule that I think is a for sure L, and that’s against Buffalo… OK, maybe Philly too? They took care of the backup QB lead Cowboys on Sunday night, which isn’t that all that impressive I guess. Do we have to worry about Dallas too? Overall, the schedule isn’t that tough, but it doesn’t need to be for it to be challenging week to week for our boys this year. I’m not throwing in the towel by any means yet (for the 7 win total that is). I still think we can get there, and I will believe it until we can’t. That’s just the way I roll. Oh yeah, and Go Commanders next week too!!!
