There is not an easy game on the Bears schedule. I don’t care what the other team’s record is, I don’t care what the Bears record is, this year, there will be no easy ones. The way everybody was talking about this Dolphins game… there is no sure thing, especially on the road. Yet, the Bears certainly played well enough to win.
Maybe we should be happy they lost? After all, one thing that the only two Super Bowl teams in Bears history have in common is a regular season loss to the Dolphins. Do I hear three? I saw another blurb about the 3 losses in the last Super Bowl year; the Packers, the Dolphins, and the Patriots. Guess we’ll have to break that next week, but we’ll get to that later. Back to Miami…
It was a tale of one too many mistakes that did us in at the end of the day. First it was a fumble by Jordan Howard at the one yard line. What’s up with him anyways? He’s certainly killing my fantasy team, but what is his role here? The Bears don’t seem to line up in too many running formations. He doesn’t seem to get the ball in short yardage situations. When he does get the ball, he doesn’t seem to be in a position to succeed. Anyways, turnovers in the red zone are killers. So we did it again.
The pick thrown by Mitch was a tide turner. He played great in the second half for the most part, but that ill advised throw killed us. I’m feeling better about his play and the play of the offense, but we can’t forget the basics; protect the ball. And yes, there will be turnovers, but if there is anywhere on the field where we simply cannot turn the ball over, it’s in the red zone.
The next big mistake was the Cohen fumble. He had another great game, but a late fumble in the 4th quarter hurt bad. Turnovers late in the game are never good. So three huge turnovers… and some bad tackling.

This was certainly unexpected. How did Brock score all these points against this D? How did Albert Wilson run wild through the entire Bears defense, not once but twice? Yes, the one side of the ball we felt ultra confident in certainly didn’t play like the elite defense we know they are.
After all this, we still had a chance to win. And just like a Fuller INT in week 1 could have bailed us out, a successful Parkey field goal could have given us the OT winner. Nope, and yeah, their kicker didn’t miss. Tough loss.
Still, I feel pretty good. Just like I felt weird watching the Bears blow out the Bucs, like when the heck have we done this type weird, I feel that way after Sunday’s loss. What an entertaining game…it was a ton of fun…watching the Bears play! Yes, the ending sucked, but what a game. What I saw in this loss only made me believe in this team a little more. The Bears are a good team! The defense that we felt most confident in, didn’t play their best…but we know they will. The offense who we were concerned about, had another great game…minus the turnovers of course. This team is talented on BOTH sides of the ball; when’s the last time we could have said that?
Losing sucks, but I see this as only a speed bump; there will be more speed bumps. But I feel like the Bears are on their way; I also didn’t give this Dolphins team enough credit. Tip the cap to them and Gase. Definitely not hanging my head though. Already looking for a bounce back next week…yeah next week. More to come… Bear Down!

One too many turnovers is right, and all of them happened at bad times from the Bears best offensive players. Nagy keeps talking up Howard but his actions show the exact opposite. Half the time, he is not even in the game. The other half, everybody knows he is going to get the ball 90% of the time then. Makes no sense. Everything is shotgun, too, with nothing coming out of normal formations. Howard had a big fumble that cannot occur, but this guy’s work over the last 2 years proved what he can do. He needs to be more involved. He needs to stay on the field. MTru has been great with the exception of a few ill-advised throws, especially the int in the red zone…that cannot happen. Hope he keeps learning and growing. Cohen was a beast on Sunday but fumbled late in the 4th when the Bears could have sealed the game. Turnovers kill. Yes, the Bears D returned the favor and got turnovers of their own, but no sacks? Really? I know the game plan for the fins was to get rid of the ball quick to avoid sacks, but how did the D allow so many yards and points then? Something not adding up, and albert wilson running through the D like he was barry sanders…come on boys! The D has to be better, and they will get their shot next week vs the pats. You better believe they will game plan similar. Another tough loss. Easily could be 5-0 but sit at 3-2 with a tough game coming. These are games that the Bears have to win. One more thought, parkey is garbage. Yes, it was 50+ yards but that is his job. Make the damn kicks when you get them no matter where they are from. His job should be on the line. The Bears have been suffering at kicker ever since letting go of the Goulden toe…sucks! Ready for the pats so the Bears can erase this bad taste.
Bear DOWN!!!
