I’m worried. Maybe it’s just out of habit. Maybe it’s because the Bears are in a foreign place right now. It’s been almost 2 weeks since that blow out win. It was an awesome way to go into the bye week, no doubt. Yet, I can’t recall the last time we were on the good end of a dominating performance like that. How do we react to this success? And, on top of that, we’ve heard for 2 weeks just how great the Bears are. We’ve climbed the power rankings in the NFL, and we didn’t even play a game last week. We’ve been hearing how good the Bears are, and are going to be… yet, the day before the Tampa Bay blowout, there were more doubters than believers. What a difference a week makes.
I was one of those believers, don’t get me wrong; I still am. I believed in this team; I knew we were going to be better than all these experts thought. I had patience and faith in Trubisky’s performance… in Nagy as a coach, with the new offense. I was excited for this year, and over the top excited about the results thus far… minus week 1 of course. Yet, now, after thinking we weren’t getting enough love, I think we may be getting too much love. It feels good, but… I’d like to proceed with caution. As I said before, each and every game this year will be a struggle; there will not be many games like the one against the Bucs. I won’t complain if there are, I’m just saying.
Now we head down to Miami to play the Dolphins; not a lot of great memories against those guys. Of course 1985 comes to mind, but there were others; I seem to remember one where we were flying high and the Dolphins marched into Soldier Field and kicked our ass. The Bears, with all the recent hype, are favored by 3 points over the Dolphins, with their disappointing start. I should feel great about this. I should feel confident that we will kick their ass. Why do I feel like this is a trap game, especially with New England coming here next week?
I hope I’m wrong. But when everybody is saying something, and something looks too good to be true, it usually isn’t. The Miami OL is beat up… need I say more. This defense SHOULD cause havoc. Trubisky is coming off a 6 TD performance; we should have no problems scoring. The mojo is all on our side. The stadium will be half full of Bears fans. This is our time… but maybe not this week.

I hate to do this. Hopefully the whole reverse psychology will kick in. I have the same feeling going into this game as I did the Cubs Rockies wild card game; sorry. I know, I know… two totally different sports and teams and times of the year, but… that feeling I get when everybody is saying we’re going to win is here. Maybe some folks can pick the Dolphins on these pre-game shows to make me feel better. Hoping to be wrong, and as always, Bear Down!

Say it ain’t so, picking against the Bears? Come on now. Yes, the Bears are off to a 3-1 with a bye week to cool down after that thrashing of the bucs. Just as everyone was too low on the Bears going into the season, there are many that are too high after 4 games. The Bears should be 4-0. MTru will not have another 6 td performance this week or any other this year. The Bears D will show up as it has through 4 games. Miami is 3-2 and tied with the pats for the division lead, so no slouch here. Cautious optimism is what I have. The game may feel like a trap, but this Bears team ain’t the usual one to fall into it. I think Nagy and Vic have the Bears’ heads on straight. Don’t listen to the hype. Head down to Miami in front of tons of Bears fans and go to work. I like the Bears to win and set up a big time game vs the pats next week.
Bears 27-dolphins 16
Jordan Howard bounces back with a 100+ yard game on the ground and a td. MTru tosses a td and the Bears D gets one as well. Here come the Bears 4-1! BEAR DOWN!!!
