Wake up in the mornin’ got the yearnin’ for… Bears football of course! 830am CST on Sunday, we can all watch the Bears take on the Jaguars, across the pond, in London. At 3-2, the Bears will look to continue to stack Ws in the easy part of their schedule, taking on a 1-4 Jaguars squad that last week, became the final team in the NFL to notch a win. There will be no more of that, at least not THIS week, right?
Well, the Bears were favored by 2.5… saw it go up to 3, and now, come back down to 1.5; I’m on it. Is this a case of the Bears still not getting any respect? Maybe. Are people back on the Jags’ (jags, now there’s a Chicago term if there ever was one… jag offs more specifically, but jags for short works just fine) bandwagon? Maybe. I will say this. The Bears will be down both Brisker and Stevenson in the defensive backfield, which certainly levels the playing field a bit; makes me hesitate putting more than just my standard 1 unit play on the boys. Still, the Jags defense is nothing to write home about; the Bears should be able to put up as many points as it will take to get out of the UK with a win. Getting to UK should be part of the story too, right? The Bears have been there all week; the Jaguars… just left recently. Advantage Da Bears.
Keep talking up Jayden Daniels; that’s cool. I’m a “under the radar” type guy anyways. The hype train was running strong on Caleb and the hard-knock Bears, but after the first few weeks of sub-par performance, that all stopped; everybody switched tracks on Daniels and the Commanders… I’m totally fine with that. Sure, the Bears have beat up on the injured Rams and dog-ass Panthers, but… don’t look now… we’re getting better. The true gauge will come after 17 games; how good were we really? Until then, we need to keep getting better, bottom line. Where that will leave us when it’s all said and done, who knows… for THIS year. But, if we keep getting better, eventually (next year, the next year), the Bears will be back near the top of the NFL; I’m here for that. Let’s walk before we run. Let’s take care of the teams we should take care of, and give it our best against the top teams in the league. The Jaguars fall in that first category. Let’s kick their asses!
Final Score Prediction: Bears 38 Jaguars 24
Ace in the Hole: Caleb 3 TD passes
Yes, maybe the defensive streak of allowing 21 or fewer points in 10 straight games may come to an end, but that’s OK. Our winning streak will be up to 3 games after this visit to Europe. Losing to the Jaguars wouldn’t be as bad as dropping one to the Panthers, but… let’s keep the momentum going; don’t mess around with any team… we’re not good enough to do that. Bring out the A game, and take care of business. Bear Down!
