November 9, 2015: Weekend Wrap

posted in: Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls | 1

It was a pretty decent weekend.  Any time I can get extra sleep, it’s a good thing.  I actually cooked some dinner for the family on Saturday night, spent some time with my parents on Sunday morning, and watched most of the Hawks game on Sunday night.  Another thing that occurred this weekend, more relevant to this blog, is that I have joined Twitter.

Yeah, I figured it was time.  I’ve been writing my ass off every day, and not really trying to get the word out.  My marketing manager aka my wife, would send many of my blogs across the twittersphere, with some feedback including Stacey King, but it’s time to setup an account exclusively for my website.  So that’s what I did…. you can now follow me, and this blog, @jski22.

The most important thing for me is to continue writing every single day… putting in the groundwork as I call it.  One day when I hit it big, I’ll have all this history, my resume if you will, to prove I know a little something about something.  Yes, I’ve been doing this blog for a year and a half now, but I’ve been a fan my whole life.  That’s another important thing… remaining just that… a fan.

OK, enough of my blabber.  I did catch some NFL football on this non-Bears Sunday.  Any time I can turn on the TV and see the Packers losing, I am a happy human.  So I left it on, and then I thought, maybe I should turn it off.  The Packers were battling back.  I left it on, and I was happy with the end result.  A Packer loss, Rodgers getting hit, and fighting on the Packer sideline…  thank you sir may I have another.  Kept tabs on my fantasy team of course, but that will come down to Monday night.  My bye week QB Cutler, and Forte replacement Langford, will be up against Phillip Rivers in an important matchup in our league.  It’s getting really bunched up now, and I can’t afford to fall to 3-6.  Monday night will have a little added importance…

So how about the Blackhawks??  I had a little time, so I thought I’d get familiar with some of these new guys on the roster.  I see we have added some Russian dudes.  The Hawks are really a world wide team.  Currently, we have 4 guys from the US, 8 from Canada, 2 from Russia, 5 from Sweden, and 1 from Austria, Czechoslovakia, Latvia, Slovakia, and Finland.  Back to those Russian guys for a second…

It is also normal and quite a common health condition, affecting millions of Americans alone. canada tadalafil The first goal I saw this year came from Anisimov.  After my hiatus due to Cubs playoff baseball, I finally tuned in against the Panthers, and saw him score a nice goal.  I knew there was a guy referred to as the “Russian Patrick Kane”, and I thought it was him, but…  after watching tonight, I think… I know that it is this kid named Panarin.

This kid is fricking fast.  I was watching this number 72 fly around the ice, and then I saw him put the puck in the net… twice.  I did check the standings, and see the Hawks are at the bottom of the division, but with guys like this, I think we’ll be just fine.  The first goal was scored from a tough angle off a nice dish from Kaner.  The second was top shelf as he skated straight at the goalie; assisted by 88 again.  A 2-0 lead was the end result, which held until the 3rd, as Crow stopped shot after shot in the 2nd.

With a power play goal, the Oilers cut it to 2-1, then it was time for the real Patrick Kane.  Yeah, he did it again.  A 10 game point streak was already kept alive with his assists in the 1st, but now another pretty goal; assisted by… the Russians.  Can we put this game to rest at 3-1 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd?

Well, no, but yes.  The Oilers scored another goal, and so did we.  I wonder which line?  Yep, the 2nd line again, this time Anisimov from Kane, 4 points on the night, as Kane and the Russians ruled the world tonight.  Now if I can get some fantasy points out of Jordan Matthews and the Philly D in the 2nd half, all while shutting down Dez Bryant, this would be a pretty good weekend.

Yeah, I know the Bulls did lose, but we already went over that… moving on.  So the Hawks get a W, and the Chicago weekend is a split, unless you count Friday night against the Devils, then we’d be down 1-2.  Whatever.  It’s good to win, especially to finish off a weekend and head into the work week.  Next up, Monday Night Football with our Bears…  let’s keep this rolling.

Cheeseturds losing always a good thing. Bears need a win tonight…go get it!
Hawks got the W at the UC. That has not been the problem. Ugly road record so far that needs to get turned around. Kane is on fire right now. The D is still struggling but will continue to get better, especially when duncs returns. No worried here.
    BEAR DOWN!!!
