Anything happen since the Bears loss to the Cowboys last Sunday??? It’s been quite the week for our boys… Losing Roquan will present a whole new set of challenges to our defense; gaining Claypool will give the offense another much needed weapon. It will take a while to see how this will all play out long term, but we’ll find out pretty quickly how the short term will look in our Week 9 matchup vs the Dolphins in Soldier Field on Sunday.
Are we going to have to score 50 points to win? The defense has been good, minus the performance against the Cowboys this past week. Yes, they’ve had their struggles vs the run throughout the weeks, but they’ve been good for the most part lately. Now, minus our leading tackler, one of the leading tacklers in the NFL, not just this year but since he’s come into the league, and that will equal??? Maybe, the defense will step up, one time for Roquan, and kick some ass this week. Certainly losing an all-pro player on defense will hurt; the Bears will try to fill this hole this year, but most likely, it will be next year at the earliest until we’re in better position… if that. Still having a hard time seeing Roquan shown the door…
I am excited to see Claypool play; a new toy for our guy Fields. It will probably take him a minute to get acclimated to the offense, to get used to playing with Justin, but yeah… let’s start that now and get a little better on that side of the ball from here on out. We certainly need weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Speaking about weapons, Hill and Waddle will present a good challenge for the Roquan-less defense. I’m kind of surprised to see the Dolphins only favored by 4 points. Maybe that means the Bears will actually pull this out???
Final Score Prediction: Dolphins 31 Bears 27
Ace in the Hole: Chase Claypool– his first TD in a Bears uniform.
Yeah, it will be a close one, unfortunately, I think the Dolphins will pull it out at the end of the day. I know I don’t pick against the Bears often, but sometimes I need to… you know, the whole reverse psychology thing in action. I just think the short term impact of losing Roquan will be great. I think our defense will give up more points than they have been, and although I think our offense is certainly looking on the up and up, the offset will not equal more victories, but less… this year. As for the path forward, yes, certainly reasons for excitement; as for my over 6.5 win bet for the Bears this year… not so much. Surprise me boys. Bear Down!!!
