I had that song in my head all day long for some reason. Sweetest Hangover, I don’t want to get over… That Bears victory over the Packers has me flying high. Bears ski cap, Bears t-shirt, and Bears sweat pants was my attire the day after Thanksgiving. It was nice to have a day off of work too…
And no, I didn’t join the protests downtown for anybody wondering. One comment on that… you want to protest, fine, it is our right to do so, but when you start impacting other people’s lives negatively by doing so, that ain’t right. OK, so I was still in my happy mood when I figured out that the Blackhawks were on in the afternoon. So I flipped them on…
It was the 2nd period and they were down. Then it went to the 3rd period and they were still down. Then it was time to pull the goalie as they were still down 2-0; maybe another type of hangover for the boys? A lackluster performance through 58 minutes had the Hawks staring at a loss in Anaheim. Then the Blackhawks magic turned on…
We got helped with a stupid penalty in front of the net, to put the Hawks on the power play with just over 2 minutes. Coach Q decided to keep Crawford on the bench, and give the Hawks a 6-4 man advantage. Keith dropped a nice pass in Hossa’s wheel house and the lead was cut in half. Then about a minute later, Keith did the job himself with a game tying goal. Unbelievable!

Kane got one of the assists on that game tying goal which extended his point streak to 18 games, tying him for most by an American born player; Eddie O is one of the guys he tied. Bobby Hull has the Hawks longest streak at 21, while the Great One holds the NHL record with some ridiculous number… I can’t recall it this second, but we’ll have to be talking about this Kane streak for another couple months if he wants to pass that one.
Back to the game, and headed to OT, where Anisimov completed the comeback with a nice goal to win it. It’s great to see when the Hawks turn it on; they still got it. It’s hard to play at that level over 82 games, 60 minutes per game, but when they’re on, they’re still one of the best in the NHL. Poor Ducks… thought they were going to get a little revenge on us…
So now I’m really feeling good… Bears win, Hawks win, and then there’s the Bulls. They didn’t help the cause with their lackluster performance in Indiana. Man were they playing like crap; Rose said so himself in the postgame. He could say that about his game pretty much every game this year, minus the OKC game. He hasn’t been good. This game was more of the same. The Pacers played decently. Paul George was making some impressive shots. Jimmy Buckets wasn’t on his game either, although he had a few nice plays here and there. The Bulls definitely looked like they had some turkey hangover; I hope they shake it off by Monday with the Spurs coming to town, as their part of the circus trip is completed.
That Bears win is going to carry me for a while I think… The Blackhawks and Bulls can only add to it… not take away from it. The last game of the circus trip is tonight when the Hawks face the Kings. Let’s keep this sweet hangover going.

Blackhawks found some of the magic to complete a very late comeback to beat the ducks. They must hate the Hawks even more now. I can definitely see another 7 game war in this yearms playoffs. The Hawks can end the road trip with a cherry on top by beating the queens tonight. How about coming out strong and not waiting until the final 2 minutes?!? Either way, just win!
GO HAWKS!!!
