Will you look at that? The Bears won a game. Of course, it took the Detroit Lions to be our opponent… and for that, in the season of giving thanks, I thank you Lions, for being worse than us, not only on this day, but over the years, never making us feel alone at the bottom of the division. And one year, your year will come, and I will not be that upset when it does, because you guys deserve it… at least those die hard fans which have to put up with all of this losing… as long as it doesn’t involve beating us in the playoffs or anything like that. But yes, very thankful for the Lions; they even made Andy Dalton look like a serviceable QB.
We all know this 1 win doesn’t fix anything. It does change something… our record. Adding one in the win column is NEVER a bad thing; I don’t apologize for feeling good after this, or any win. I don’t ever feel bad after a win… well, let me think about that. I do remember one of the greatest victories for this Nagy led bunch, back when we defeated the Packers at home, as we clinched the division; what a time to be alive. Yet, I remember Eddie getting hurt late in that one, and that concerning me; I guess an injury could damper a victory… the Bulls did beat the 76ers in that fateful playoff game years ago. I think that may be the only thing.
As I’ve said recently, winning provides happiness. Regardless of how ugly, small, or “meaningless” the win may be, it’s fun to win; it gives us die hards a little bit of glory… we need these little bits, especially when the last time we got the ultimate win was, what 35 years ago now… On this day, winning saved us an ounce of embarrassment; God knows we’ve had plenty of helpings of that over the years. Losing to the winless Lions would have most certainly been added to that long list. Beating them means… the team hasn’t given up. Regardless of all the losses, and all the BS that has been swirling, we pulled it out, against, honestly, an inspired Lions effort yesterday. If you thought Nagy calling plays was bad, I hope you saw what is going on in Detroit; just remember, it could always be worse.

Honestly, it’s hard to imagine any scenario where Nagy is still coaching here come next season; I mean, I’d love to imagine the Bears winning out, making the playoffs, winning the Super Bowl, but… maybe if I had been up drinking all night, and still haven’t slept at this point, that may make sense. It’s not going to happen, thus, Nagy, the fake offensive genius, will coach out the remainder of his original contract, and then be shown the door… unless he brings in a new OC and totally steps out of the offense…
Look, anything can happen, but one thing that will rarely happen, is me not feeling great after a Bears win. Yes, Roquan did get hurt, after dishing out some punishment to Swift, and many others over the season; man I love that guy. He’ll be OK though, and so will the Bears. If not this season, certainly next, right? Right?!?! Yeah, that wait ’til next year slogan is a familiar one. If I can though, ask for just one more thing this year, besides Fields staying healthy and continuing to improve and all… a victory on December 12th. Thank YOU Bears for not ruining my Thanksgiving. Bear Down!
