November 24, 2018: Reminders

posted in: Bulls | 1

Saturday night brought the first matchup of the year with the Timberwolves.  I watched a little bit; didn’t really want to watch…too many reminders of those Bulls teams who I thought would bring us number seven.

One guy that wasn’t on the court was Jimmy Butler.  He got his wish, and got out of Minnesota.  He now takes the court for the Sixers.  I’m still mad that we traded him.  Yeah, he acted like a little B with the whole drama up in Minnesota; that definitely surprised me.  After all, it was all the ex-Bulls reunited, and all he had left was one year on his deal; why not take another shot at it with the boys?  Thibs is still there.

I wonder how he really feels.  Another guy I can’t get over getting rid of.  He has to feel betrayed by Jimmy.  I guess he kind of created this monster.  It was under Thibs where Jimmy grew into the two way beast he is today.  But with success, came a big head; he turned into one of today’s NBA’s divas.  That wasn’t what he was back then.  Sad to see that develop.  I’m still ok with my son wearing his jersey though.

But back to Thibs, seeing him on the sideline brings a warm feeling in my stomach.  That feeling quickly turns to sickness when I see our coach.  Still unbelievable to me.  And to think that these two jagaloons still call the shots for us.  It doesn’t stop there.  Taj Gibson…loved him.  The ultimate hard hat lunch pail guy, gutty and gritty as ever; he was another guy that embodied the Thibs Bulls.  So of course, he had to go too.  Deng is even on the Wolves, although don’t think he made the court in this game.  Thought it was him out ther for a minute, but it was Gieng…

Finally, we have the kid from Chicago, and no I’m not talking about Jabari Parker.  It’s good to see Rose playing well.  It’s been a tumultuous relationship no doubt, but it’s been fun seeing him play good this year.  Unfortunately, this too is taking place on another team.  He’s even hitting threes consistently now!

The game was another loss for the Bulls, and if you take a peek at the upcoming schedule, there looks to be a whole lot more of that going to be happening.  Lauri should be back soon, and that will help, probably just enough to keep us in that 8-10 best team in the East range; yes, in other words, NBA hell.  And to top it off, we have to watch all these ex-Bulls doing well throughout the league.

I’m going to face it head on in about a month as we’ll head to see the TimberBulls in person at the UC.  Sucks that Jimmy did what he did, but it’ll still be good to see the boys in person again.  I’ll give them a nice ovation, but when they hit the court, I have to cheer against them…at least on this night.  Because regardless of everything else, the Bulls will always be my team.

These guys are only reminders when the Bulls play them. Other than that, I am not following what they are doing. Honestly, Thibs is the only guy that I really miss, just because it was not his fault with how things went down. Plus, now that we have fredberg leading the charge, we all know how he’s been…blah. Yes, I do miss those Thibs’ teams when I thought the Bulls were going to bring us #7, but since they did not, they are all dead to me. Sure, I don’t hate them or anything, except maybe drose, but what is there to remember? They had some good years but essentially did nothing. They fell short. Now jimmy is a diva hitting game winners for the 76ers. The other timberbulls are trying to make the playoffs in the tough west, while the Bulls remain in nba hell. Enjoy the timberbulls when you see them at the UC, but like you said, the Bulls will always be our team so anyone not on it does not matter any more. Go Bulls!!!
