November 23, 2015: Coming Up Short

posted in: Bears | 2

I’m not mad.  It was a tough game.  We were just on the short end of it.  I don’t think there’s nothing to be ashamed of here.  Yes, coming up short sucks, but it happens to teams every week.

It’s not like the Vikings or Lions games that we blew away.  Yeah, we had our chances here too, and didn’t capitalize, but Denver is a solid team.  As I said in my writeup, I don’t think we’re that much worse than Denver… only 2 points on this day.  Their defense came to play, but we were short handed…

Forte was out again.  Langford has been playing well, but had a rough game on Sunday.  I thought the Bears should have used him more.  He had been a pretty solid receiver out of the backfield; why not run some screens for him?  I love how every other team in the NFL can execute successful screens, and we can’t… at least not consistently.  I thought they should have thrown to him that first time near the goal line trying to tie the game.  He did go out in the pattern, but cut inside vs outside; I thought if he cut outside, with Cutler rolling that way, it was six.  We needed someone else to throw to because Alshon was out… again.  Is this guy the Derrick Rose of the Bears?  He’s been out too much.  I love when he’s on the field; he’s a beast.  But I would have loved to see him out there on Sunday… we really needed him.  So Cutler was down a couple key weapons; he still played well in my opinion.  This is the longest string of games where I haven’t been really pissed off at Jay.  Yet, he couldn’t lead us to the win.  The defense had something to do with that too…

That first drive… that wide open WR… that missed tackle.  They flashed some ridiculous stat about the Bears defense on the first drive of the game; we’re horrendous.  Knowing this, I didn’t panic after giving up that first one; I was figuring we’d settle down, and we did.  That 2nd TD wasn’t good either; it was too easy.  Overall, the defense played well… made some big sacks, held the Broncos in check.  However, it was the few lapses that cost us in the end.  Playing against a good opponent… a great defense… the margin for error is small.  But we already know this about our 2016 Bears.

So, it is necessary to know the way probe cialis generika this medicine works and procedure to use it properly. The talent is not all there.  Man, Kevin White sure would have looked good out there today; another weapon for Jay to throw to.  One or two more impact defenders would have most certainly made a difference.  The Bears aren’t loaded; we just have enough to get by.  We just have enough to play close games, but don’t have enough to win them.  At 4-6, the season of low expectations appears headed that way again and who’s up next but our good old buddies; the ones who beat us up two times a year.

There’ll be games like this during the season…  the ones you fight hard but come up short.  It’s been an all too familiar theme for our boys this year.  However, there is no time to dwell on that fact, or this past game.  It’s a short week, and we’re heading to Lambeau.

I remember those days where 2-14 was said to be a successful season if those 2 wins were against the Pack.  A win Thursday would equal 5-6 and would keep our very slim hopes alive this year.  The Pack bounced back and beat the Vikings on the road, just as we had faltered.  Heading opposite directions again?

That’s all I can think about now; this game is gone and done… it’s Packer week.  And this one is a little special too…  see you in a few days cheese…

I sure thought when we brought on Mr. Gase as our offensive co-ordinator that the Bears had finally turned the corner. HA, silly me. Maybe we should go out and hire a high school coach to call our plays. Those guys come up with some pretty ‘out of the norm’ plays. Could have used a couple of them on those last 2 red-zone drives. Not sure if the plays called were actually run or if Cutler changed them at the line based on what he thought he saw. Either way….not very imaginative and not anything that fooled the Broncos. Oh well, maybe we’re holding our for a better draft choice.

To me, fox blew this game when he elected to go for it on 4th and goal from the 4 with 10 minutes left in the game. Take the 3. Yes, the Bears still needed a td, but it could have been to win the game without having to go for 2pts. So much time was left with all 3 timeouts plus the 2 minute warning. I think the Bears had 2 possessions after that. I heard someone on the radio say that fox is one of the top coaches during the week, and one of the worst on sundays…no adjustments, no time management, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love fox as the coach, but this one is on him and gase…some questionable decisions and play calls.
Looking like our game of the year is turkey night. Here’s hoping we spoil the cheese and favre’s holiday!
    BEAR DOWN!!!
