Thank God for the Bulls… and at this point, the Blackhawks too. They are both serving as a nice interruption from the Bears train that is barreling off the tracks. Soon, they will become the main event, and much, much more than an interruption. But in the meantime, I will continue to lean on them to help me recover from another Bears gut shot.
The Bulls did finally take one on the chin at home vs the Pacers on Monday night, but before that, the Bulls returned from a successful road trip without Vooch, and beat the Knicks on Sunday night at the UC. Although Monday wasn’t too fun, in general, I’m having a great time watching these guys. It’s the first time since the Thibs days, that I really believe this team can go somewhere. Speaking of Thibs, we saw him again on Sunday in Bulls Knicks Round 2. It just feels like these two teams will meet again… well, duh, yeah they will, but.. when it counts. Originally I thought this would be the 4-5 matchup, but with the early success of the Bulls, maybe we can exceed the middle of the road seed? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, and let’s stay healthy! We’ve already lost Patrick, and have had to deal without Vooch for a minute. Good to see Coby back; glad he finally got in on the party Sunday night vs the Knicks. I’m really happy the Bulls didn’t ship him. Let’s hope Caruso doesn’t miss more time, and that our dynamic duo stay upright. Injuries suck; we are very, very familiar with that as Bulls fans. Let’s keep it rolling, let’s dodge serious injuries, and let’s see how high the ceiling is for this squad.

Did it really take the firing of Colliton to turn this season around? I anticipated a short spark, but 5 out of 6 is starting to turn into something more than that… we hope. Fleury has been pretty good in goal, including Monday night in Vancouver. Big time shutout for the Flower! I’m glad the Hawks have turned it around; looking for them to keep this up, and get themselves back in the mix for that most important 2nd season. Will King stay on as coach? Why not. Ride that hot hand as long as possible.
Yes, seeing them both win on Sunday night helped ease the Bears pain; I’m not going to dwell on Monday’s Bulls game, although I’m not making excuses for it either, like everybody else seems to be. Pacers kicked our ass; we’ll see them again. We’ll see the Bears again… soon, on Thursday morning in Detroit. Why, why do we have to play on Thanksgiving? At this point, I feel like putting money on Detroit to win, so my Thanksgiving is guaranteed not to be ruined. If the Bears win, awesome; if they lose, at least I made some money. Yeah, I’m getting to the point where I’m “paying” for Bears victories?!?! God knows we’ve paid enough over the years… Talk about #7 for the Bulls and/or the Hawks… and yes, I know it’d be #10 for the Bears, but… only #2 in the Super Bowl category. We’ve suffered long enough!!! But… I’ll take any title at this point… and at this point, it looks like the Bears chances are shot for another year… so back to that interruption… Go Bulls and Hawks!!!
