Another game that we’ve all marked on the calendar as a win; another game where the Bears need to take care of business. Beating the teams we should beat, while splitting vs the others, should equal playoffs. After last week, we jumped from last to first; let’s stay there a while.
Maybe a trap game? Maybe not. Papa Vegas likes the Bears a whole lot; Bears are -10 IN Buffalo! A 10 point favorite on the road? Wonder when the last time that was. Not too many memories of games vs the Bills over the years. One that comes to mind is the beat down we gave them in Soldier Field that year; it may have been our Super Bowl year with Lovie. It was early in the year, and it was beautiful outside. I recall the Bears were like 15 point favorites in that game. This was back in my betting days; I took the Bills and the points. I think that was the last time I bet against one of my teams. In a game where I should have loved every last point scored by the Bears, I was hoping for a closer win. Never again.
The line this week looks high at first glance, but is about right. Peterman is playing QB for the Bills? Even if Mack isn’t playing, how many points can he lead the Bills to against this Bears defense? Not many. This is one of those games where Trubisky and the boys can’t turn the ball over; they need to be smart, take what’s given to them, and don’t take points off the scoreboard. At first glance, this seems like a low scoring affair.
Saw some noise about Mitch during the week from ESPN. I didn’t really pay much attention to it; I typically don’t pay attention to ESPN… haven’t for a while now. What do the national guys know about my team that I don’t? Has Trubisky been Mahomes? No. Has he looked decent this year? Yes. We’ve been over this time and time again. The kid is inconsistent; he shows great flashes, he misses open throws. Overall, he’s improving. With a whole new WR corps, a brand new offense, in his first year starting, I’m happy overall. Sure, everybody gets frustrated when he misses an open pass, or throws a ball into traffic, but come on; let’s not be TOO critical. The Bears are in first place for God’s sake. Maybe you worry about how he’ll do in a big game against a good team; let’s cross that bridge when we get there. We need to take care of business against the teams we should beat, like I said.

Don’t let up. Don’t take any team for granted. Snuff them out. Don’t let them breathe. Be smart with the ball on offense Nagy; don’t get too cute. Get the win any way we can, and move on to Week 10 in first place. Bear Down!

Monday morning qb here again. Definitely liked the Bears to pound the bills in this game. I did not know that the line was -10, but I thought the over/under was about 37/38. That line sure seemed like a lot for a Bears team on the road, but I knew that the bills would not do much offensively. I mean, Peterman, really? Yeah, even without Mack, which was a good sit by the way, the Bears D would get the job done. Good call going with them as the ace in the hole. I would have done the same but would not have guessed 2 defensive touchdowns. Yes, MTru has missed some throws and made some bad decisions, but there is no way the Bears are in first place without him. I agree, the national espn idiots do not know more than us. If the Bears are to win the division and/or make the playoffs, it will be with MTru leading the offense to go along with a great D. This is not rex grossman and that Bears D. MTru will continue to make plays, both with his arm and legs, which is definitely needed at times. Keep learning when not to force the play and make the easy throws. Bears still in first place, hell yes! BEAR DOWN!!!
