November 19, 2016: Week 11 Bears at Giants

posted in: Bears | 1

It can’t get worse, right?  Last week was just the latest embarrassing loss for our Bears.  Not just this year, but in recent history, the Bears seem to be reaching new lows.  I hate it.  I don’t see it getting better this week.

Although, that’s when the unexpected happens.  The GMen are 7.5 point favorites at home this Sunday.  That’s about right I think.  The Giants have been playing better, but that really doesn’t matter.  You feel like any team right now would paste our boys.  That’s especially true when you are being led by the turnover king.

I heard some stats I just couldn’t believe.  Let me look them up to be sure.  Yep, it’s true.  In 101 games started for the Bears, he has thrown 108 picks.  He also has 64 fumbles.  That’s good for 1.7 turnovers per game.  That’s more turnovers than the 153 TD passes he’s thrown over the same period.  It’s pathetic.  I should be saving these numbers for the Hate File that will be written the minute the Bears release him.  How do you expect to win football games when you are turning it over almost 2 times per game, and when your turnovers exceed your TD passes?  Seems pretty simple.

But yet, it wasn’t.  It wasn’t when dumb ass Phil Emery signed him to this huge contact that we’re waiting to expire.  Thankfully, after this year is up, the Bears can part ways and only take a 2 million dollar hit.  I can’t wait.  In the meantime, why is he even starting any more?  They need to move on with Barkley, until we draft somebody next year.  Now you hear some stuff about him not being prepared…  it’s believable.  The guy plays one good game, his wife starts talking trash on Twittter, then comes back, after the bye, and looks lost.  I’m ready to get off this roller coaster.  It’s been one of the worst rides of my life.

Let’s try to concentrate on a bright spot.  Jordan Howard matches that description.  I heard some other numbers from last week.  If I remember correctly, he was ripping off 7 yards per carry on 1st down in the 1st half last week.  Then he fumbles, then he’s not on the field.  I was happy when the Bears got Fox… I was also happy when we got Cutler.

Fox has been much worse than I thought.  Although it wouldn’t matter if the Bears were winning, it’s just flat out annoying the way he deals with the media.  He is sounding more and more like Trestman.  He’s always been shady about injuries, etc.  He flat out lies.  Again, not that that’s the most important part of his job, but his coaching sucks too.  What about the OC Dowell Loggans?  Fox preaches sticking with the run.  Gase got the best out of Cutler last year by keeping it simple and not asking him to do much.  None of that has shown up this year.  Fire them all.  OK, maybe you keep Fangio.  The defense is young and has had the most injuries; maybe they were really a year away the whole time.  How many years away are the Bears from being competitive?

Final Score Prediction

Giants 27 Bears 13

Ace in the Hole

Robbie Gould 9 FGs

I got to try to amuse myself some way.  Seeing Robbie just makes me think of another stupid move that the Bears have made.  There are plenty to choose from.  It’s harder and harder to watch, but I will be tuning in on Sunday.  I will be waiting, waiting for Jay’s last game in a Bears uniform.  I don’t think those wins I’m waiting for will happen until then.  Bearing down in the hardest times…

Bears should cover the spread…seems a bit inflated, but I do not expect them to win, especially with turnover jay at the helm. The countdown is on for his final game in a Bears uniform. Unfortunately, it comes a few years too late. Cut ties and eat the 2 million instead of watching the turnover queen hold the Bears hostage every damn week.
Bears keep it close but lose…25-22.
Howard bounces back froma fumble to have 100+ and a td.
    BEAR DOWN!!!
