After an 0-7-2 start to the season, and an even worse month off the ice, the Blackhawks were very happy to turn the page on October. On Tuesday, the Hawks welcomed the Senators to the UC, and…. drum roll please… got their first victory of the season!!! Helloooooooooo November!
Did you know they weren’t even the last team to get their first win of the season in the NHL? Thank you Arizona Coyotes for keeping us company in the winless club. At 0-8-1, they remain the last team standing in the land of no wins. Also, quick shoutout to Montreal, for only having 4 points, like us, through their first 10 games; appreciate another Original 6 franchise making us feel better about our shitty start. Now that we finally have our first victory, what’s next?
Well, about that victory, Mr. 88 scored a hat trick. Thanks for joining us this season Patrick; appreciate that. Better late than never they say… and Toews too. Still no goals for 19, but he doubled his assist total for the year with 3 on the night. It’s nice that the two guys that should be leading us through these tough times stepped up this evening. More, more, more please…

I saw some pics, and the crowd was pretty sparse. I know the sellout streak had been broken, but man… Monday night game at the UC was a little light. Funny enough, I had looked at ticket prices earlier in the day, just for shits and giggles. Sure enough, $7 for a ticket?!?! I can’t even remember the last time this was true. Sure, for a Wolves game, with a hot dog and beer included, but for the mighty Blackhawks?!?! My how the mighty have fallen. I guess the combination of a winless month and a serious scandal have taken its toll…
But, based on that ticket information, I will certainly be looking at going to see them soon. Can’t beat that shit. In fact, I may start my Christmas shopping early, scooping up some Hawks tickets for my family and friends. Typically not able to get 3 tickets under $200, now I can score them for under $50??? Heck yeah, I’m in! Now what game to go to…
For the Hawks, next up is the Hurricanes at the UC on Wednesday night, so… this winning stuff may be short lived. I’m sure they’ll come in here and paste us, just like they did down in Carolina, but hey… it’s a new month; the Blackhawks got a new lease on life in November 2021. Maybe this team, who I expected to be much better, will slowly start to turn it around. Plenty of time left in the season; hopefully no more scandals waiting in the wings… Focus on shift to shift, bring the effort for 60 minutes, and maybe, just maybe this tide can be turned. I’m sure this is all the stuff that Colliton is preaching. Now that we won a game, he’s off the hot seat right? Haha… Go Hawks!
