May 30, 2019: Empty Feeling

Passed by the United Center the other day… not much going on right about now.  It was sort of an empty feeling… recalling many days when Madison street was jumping this time of year.  It really sucks.  I have to resort to rooting against teams that are still playing, like hoping the Raptors beat the Warriors, or hoping for the lesser of two evils, uncomfortably hoping the Blues beat the Bruins.  Unfortunately, I’ll probably be on the wrong side of both of those.  Maybe instead of living in the present, I should go back to those days when Madison & Damen was jumping.  It’s that old Uncle Rico syndrome… as a die hard Chicago sports fan, I’m reeeeeeeeaallly good at doing that.  Always remembering past glories…  it sure beats the current NBA and NHL finals.

It wasn’t too long ago that the UC was rocking, with both the Bulls and Blackhawks playing late into the playoffs.  Nothing beats being in the playoffs.  It’s a whole different ballgame.  Being there is another level, but even watching on your couch, you feel the difference; each game means that much more.  Those meaningful games help us reach the peak of our sports fandom.  The result of those games etches life long memories in our brains… some we wish we could forget, and others that we long to relive.

That Bulls window… man, that was rudely slammed shut.  The whole DRose injury saga… if he was healthy has to rank as one of the biggest “what ifs” in Chicago sports history.  NBA history would have been rewritten I believe.  2012 sure felt like our year.  After getting a taste in 2011, we were primed for that rematch with the Heat, a year later, a year older and wiser.  I believe we would have beat them and won the NBA finals.  No bias here… haha.  Yeah, although I loved that team… lots of great memories there, to relive the ultimate, I need to go back into my youth a bit, and the dynasty Bulls of the 90s.  I do feel for the Bulls fans who have never seen a title, but for those that were around back then…  is 6 titles enough?  Have we gotten our piece of the pie already?  Are we destined to never see another one in our lifetime?  I sure hope not… maybe the Boylen Bulls will provide us that elusive 7th title?  Hey, I’m trying to keep this upbeat.

This may occur if you are taking anti http://seanamic.com/changing-lives-with-the-jubilee-sailing-trust/ cialis uk depressants. You just need best levitra prices your debit or credit card. All the dose strength, power and healing capacity are the same to the branded buy cheap sildenafil. It is an analogous of its original viagra shop usa yet it is not exposed at the probability of soaring its price as there is more competition among the providers which sell them.

Most of us were around for the Hawks run; still not over right?  For me, that was really fun… being robbed by Dollar Bill for most of my youth from watching the Blackhawks.  I tried to follow them back in the day, but without being able to watch them, and not going to any games, it was tough; they were definitely last on the priority list in Chicago sports.  But this dynasty team… yeah, I said it… I fell in love with that team… being able to watch all their games… and them being so damn good.  I savor this decade that is about to come to an end; a big part of that feeling is thanks to the Blackhawks recent success.  I still am hoping for one more deep run with the future HOFers that are still out there.

We have three choices:  go back and watch some of that old video, continue to watch the current NBA and NHL playoffs, or read about the future of the UC teams.  Past, present, and future…  I guess my best way is to balance all three of those, although wouldn’t mind locking myself in my basement for a week and watch every playoff game in its entirety for each of our championship seasons.  If I ever get to do this, I will document it.  Until then…
