May 27, 2015: And Then There Was Seven

posted in: Blackhawks | 1

Was there ever really a doubt?  For the second year in a row, the Hawks will play a Game 7 with the right to play in the Stanley Cup Finals on the line. How you feeling?

Well, I’m feeling pretty damn good after a game six slaughter of the Ducks.  Saad opened the scoring on another semi breakaway. Personally, I like the one from game four better, but this one was sweet too.  I’ve already said a ton about Brandon during the year, but it’s worth mentioning again. This kid is the real deal. Get ready to lock him up long term and play him some serious dough. He’ll be a top player of ours for a long time.

Hossa finally got on the board next. Is he about to get hot?  He had some nice streaks during the regular season. It’d be nice to see him tack on another on Saturday.  Would be nice to see Sharp catch fire too at some point.

The third goal was scored by a guy who always seems to be hot this time of year. 88 scored another of his long list of big goals. At 3-0, the Hawks appeared poised for a blowout. But in this series, we should know better.

It was 3-2 before Shaw added an awesome goal of his own. After his second, an empty netter, the final was determined and game 7 was set. Are you ready?

With the pain of last year’s defeat still remembered, I’m nervous. Last year, we had the home ice. This year we don’t.  Last year we had to dig out of a 3-1 hole. This year we don’t. Personally, I think the ducks are better than the Kings.  We’ll find out on Saturday if they’re the best team in this series.

I’m nervous, but confident. If there’s any Chicago team to put your trust and faith in, it’s these boys.  Will they be able to seal the deal?

Only 3 days until we find out. Damn that’s a long time. Try to relax until then. Get your Hawks gear ready. Get your mojo in order. It’s game 7, and it ain’t no joke. Go Hawks!

The ducks seemed tight in the 1st period. Hope that happens again in game 7. The pressure is on them. The Hawks have been there before and have that experience on their side. I hope that along with all the skill will decide game 7 and not some lucky redirect like last year. Can’t wait for Saturday night…GO HAWKS!!!
