May 26, 2017: Heading West

The pizza is not very good.  There was this Italian Restaurant in Burbank that had ok pizza.  There was Cheech’s I believe in Los Feliz that sufficed for a bit.  I’m not ashamed to say it, but there were many Pizza Hut nights.  There definitely isn’t any pizza worth eating in LA.  There were other spots though.

Tommy’s was as good as any.  Before work on the weekends, now during any visit, and back in the day, after the Dodgers Cubs game.  Those chili cheeseburgers were good any time any how.  El Compadre was the spot many days too.  The spot that was discovered by accident, turned out to be a staple, including before Cubs Dodgers games too.  Of course, this is all coming back to me because the Cubs were heading west for a weekend series in LA.

Did I tell you about my Cubs Dodgers story?  I can never remember if that is documented or not; I’m sure the police inside Dodger Stadium still have it on record.  Those were fun times.  I know I’ve said this before; Dodger Stadium is one of my favorites.

Not because of the late arriving or early departing crowd.  Not because the Dodger Dogs are pretty tasty and functional all at the same time.  Not because during these games with the Cubs, a major amount of Cubs fans were in attendance.  No, I like it because it’s one of the oldies but goodies.

Wrigley is the ultimate of course, and Fenway remains on the bucket list, but Dodger Stadium…that’s a great place to watch a game.  That long walk uphill to Chavez Ravine.  Entering the stadium either on the ground level or on the top level.  The beautiful scenery outside the stadium. The old school feel once inside.  I enjoyed my many games inside Dodger Stadium.  It still remains on the list of stadiums to take my son.

So it is no doubt that this has sometimes been cialis tabs 20mg effective, but the fact is that the disorder goes on to be worst as and when a person grows old.
And now the first place, defending champion Cubs begin their 2017 version of this series.  It would be great to walk in there with my championship gear on.  I has to endure one of the toughest losses, my worst loss ever in person, back in LA in 2008 as the best regular season record Cubs got swept out of the playoffs.  All those good memories, trumped by that one.  It was painful.  But now, the pain is gone.

Now, the Cubs are the champs, and beating the Dodgers in the NLCS was part of it.  Now we hold the trump card.  All those LA fans can no longer give us crap for the drought.  Now all they can do is call it lucky…just like some other Cub haters I know.  It’s all good though.

It would have been a nice weekend to head out there, with the holiday and all.  We’ll be back soon enough.  In the meantime, it’s time to try to stay up to watch the start of this west coast swing.  I didn’t think I’d be up to that challenge, although I thought the Cubs would be up to theirs.  I was right about one of them.

Cubs vs the dodgers. They gave us some lumps over the years, but the Cubs finally got some payback last year on the way to winning it all.
Dodger stadium is a pretty sWeet place to watch a game. Always nicer when the Cubs can win there, though.
Would love to see a game in fenway, yankee stadium, sf, and arizona. One day, one day, just like the Cubs winning a world series.
How would the Cubs handle the dodgers and a six game west coast trip? Call it heading south instead of west.
