May 18, 2015: California Hate

posted in: Blackhawks | 2

I don’t hate California.  I lived there for a handful of years.  With the beautiful weather every day, the ocean and numerous beaches, the mountains, the close proximity to Vegas, how could I possibly hate California?  Why is it then that a number of their teams show up in the Hate Files?

The Los Angeles Dodgers & Kings reside there now.  I have other ones to add when I get around to it… I hated the Lakers for a while too.  Even some individuals, like Steve Garvey played for a California team.  Kevin Love played for UCLA, Carlos Boozer went to the Lakers.  I could very easily hate the Padres and Giants too for knocking out the Cubs from the playoffs in 1984 & 1989 respectively.  How about the 49ers for crushing the Bears over the years?  There is plenty of hate to spread around out there on the West Coast.

So the question is will the Anaheim Ducks join that group?  Is losing one playoff series to a team enough to hate them?  I think you know the answer to that.  Sometimes losing one game is enough to hate.  If they take out the Blackhawks, I can easily make a case to hate them… but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The Hawks lost Game 1 on Sunday.  You had to figure they were a little rusty… what, they hadn’t played in a like 2 weeks!  I didn’t get to watch much of the game, but from what I read, the Hawks outplayed them a lot of the game.  I did see the miraculous save on Kane’s open net shot.  From reading some of the stuff the Ducks said, they seem pretty confident.  We can’t let this get out of hand.  We can’t dig ourselves a hole here.

It was on their home ice, so they had to win more than us, but…  I’d like to see a Game 2 win for the Hawks.  Going down 2-0 in any series, regardless if you lost on the road, is not good.  That’s halfway to elimination for all you math majors.  So, since I didn’t see much of the game, if YOU did, fill me in.  Throw some comments out there.  You break the game down.  After all, this is supposed to be a interactive blog.

So I’m cutting this one short… I did get a chance to post early, so I’m happy about that.  Gotta go…  GO HAWKS!

0-3 power play…their big guns did nothing just like ours. Final score includes and empty netter and it was a 2-1 game until about 5or6 minutes left in the 3rd. Hawks had some chances but did not capitalize. Rundblad got cross checked in the back right in front of the net on the 1st goal with no call. I am not worried. Hawks will come out tomorrow determined not to go down 2-0. Time to step it up Hawks…rust is off, time to equalize! GO HAWKS!!!
