March 9, 2023: Saga Continues

Let’s talk about one of my favorite people in the whole world: Aaron Rodgers. I jest of course, and probably wouldn’t even talk about him if I wasn’t still in catch up mode, but… the whole is he staying, is he going thing… who gives a shit? Honestly, if I was a fan of the Packers (first off, I’d kick my own ass), I’d be pretty sick of this whole thing, but here we are… the saga continues.

I think I’m in the minority here, but… I’d rather he stay in Green Bay; yeah, I said it. You know why? Because I want the Bears to kick the Packers’ ass WITH him; of course, I’ll settle for the alternative, but yeah… with all the pain he’s caused us over the years, I want him to be there when it comes back around, and baby, it’s coming. But, if he takes off…. this year the Jets are in the mix… good riddance; not going to shed any tears either. If he goes to the AFC, then maybe we’ll get to see him lose some AFC championship games…. haha. Doesn’t he have enough of those in the NFC? In fact, what’s the record for most conference championship losses by a QB? A quick search tells me Aaron Rodgers is tied for the most with 4 of these losses; his company is Brady, McNabb, Steve Young, and Ken Stabler. I would take any of those QBs over Rodgers btw.

Obviously if he goes, the Packers become a way worse team, and I’m definitely here for that. Yet at the same time, it would free up some cap space, and they’ll finally get to see if that other QB is their 3rd HOF QB in a row… I’ll take bets on that. If he does leave, the Packers become the worst team in the division; agree? The Lions will probably be the favorites, but… they are the Lions. The Vikings will be good, but… they have Kirk Cousins. The Bears… well, we won’t be worse than last year; I can guarantee that.

If Rodgers goes to the Jets, he will follow the footsteps of the previous HOF QB from Green Bay; will that mean he’ll end up in Minnesota next??? Wherever he goes, I hope he loses. Kind of like LeBron… whatever team Rodgers will play on, I’ll instantly root against. Nothing personal to that team, in this example the Jets, but… it is what it is.

One of the Packer fans I talked to brought up last year’s offseason, and how Rodgers skipped out on pre-season workouts with his totally brand new WR core; real classy, leader-type move there Aa-ron. Maybe more Packer fans would be happy/relieved about this then they’re letting on? Still, watching a HOF QB walk… that has to suck; I don’t even know what a HOF QB looks like, so… can’t vouch for that, but, you know what I mean. Packer fans will always have all those Super Bowls Rodgers brought them… oh wait, I’m being told he’s only won 1… haha. Regardless if he stays or goes, I hope that number never changes. Next.
