March 8, 2017: It’s Magic

First thing that comes to mind when you read those words…  Anthony Rizzo of course.  One of his trademark lines last year.  Unfortunately, we will not be talking about the Cubs today.  The reason for the title has to do with the Bulls opponent on Wednesday night.  The title can also be used to summarize the Bulls year, but not in a good way.

Of course the Bulls would lose a game like this.  That is their pattern.  Losing games that they should win, and winning games that they should lose.  Is that really the story of any 500 team?  Something good to analyze if you’re up for it.  I guess you’d have to take the Vegas line into account for each game to determine how many games a team has won as a favorite vs as an underdog.  Games you should win vs games you should not… technically.  A more detailed investigation of that would probably reveal some screwy lines, but that’s how Papa Vegas rolls.

And that’s how the Bulls roll.  It’s magic how the Bulls can look so good in the first half and look so bad in the second half.  We’ve seen this before.  I usually catch the beginning of the game, then put my son to bed, read books, etc; by the time I get back to the game, the Bulls have went off the rails.  This game was no different.

If you’re looking for another pattern, it’s these younger, more athletic teams.  Speaking of trademark lines…  Yes, Gar gave us this material before the season; he deserves to get pounded for it.  Although technically, we were younger on this night… with Wade not playing of course.

Not much to be found right now with the Bulls.  I was debating even writing about them for a while.  It’s the same ol’, same ol’…  this team is definitely the worst off out of all our Chicago teams.  Middle of the road season with nothing really to make us believe that next year will be any better… give us something.

Yeah, so maybe I’ll take a break from the Bulls for a while, although they’re kind of like that train wreck that you just can’t stop watching.  You know you should look away, but you just can’t.  But I will… at least until next game.  Let’s talk about another one of our teams… the one slightly in better shape than the Bulls.  Yeah, been some stuff going on with those Bears.  That’s next.
