Getting in a nice little rhythm, Bulls, Hawks, Bulls, Hawks… back to the UC on Tuesday night to see the Bulls host the class of the league the Cleveland Cavaliers; how’d that go? About as good as could be expected…
I want either the Cavs or Thunder to win it all. They are each the best team in their conference. They are NOT the Celtics or Lakers. They come from small markets and may be battling against the wishes of the NBA and its higher powers, but… I would love to see that Finals matchup. Donovan Mitchell is one of today’s superstars I can respect; I like his game. SGA.. I like him too; he does flop around a bit, getting plenty of calls, but.. he is definitely talented. The Cavs also have Darius Garland, Mobley, Allen, Strus, and a mid-season acquisition in Hunter that may help them get to the top. I don’t care that they’re from Cleveland; as long as Lebron isn’t there, I don’t care if they win. On this night, there was no issue.
Well, that’s not exactly true. The Bulls put up a really good fight. They were only down by 2 points to start the 4th quarter; yeah, really! But, in true blue Bulls fashion, they shit themselves in the 4th quarter, getting outscored 43-23 to lose by 22 points; tell me who could have saw this coming. I should be making some money off this predictability. I tried to cash in a little on a player prop in this one; I don’t play those often, but figured I’d take a shot at Donovan Mitchell; he kills the Bulls, especially in Chicago. I was thinking he did it because of MJ and all, and then I hear that the reason he wears #45 is because that was Jordan’s baseball number…. wow. OK, so I got the prop in-game; I took over 30 points for plus money. After Donovan’s huge 3rd quarter, and a few buckets early in the 4th, he sat at 28 points; OK, this feels pretty good. He came out of the lineup with about 7 mins left and a 4 point game; OK, let’s just keep this game close. When Mitchell came back in the game about 3 minutes later, the Cavs had outscored the Bulls 17-8 to extend to a 13 point lead; OK… glad he came back in the game. One bucket is all I need. Mitchell was taken out of the game a little more than a minute later; the Cavs lead was now 19… yep, I still need one bucket. This is why I don’t play player props.
Anyways, the Bulls took another L; this one wasn’t surprising. It was the Cavs 11th win in a row; this is their 3rd winning streak of 10 games or more THIS SEASON! Speaking about bets… I have them for longest winning streak of the season; right now they’re tied with OKC with 15. 5 more wins and they’ll own it all by themselves… for now. Come on Cavs… I mean, come on Bulls; let’s get our act together and solidify the 10 seed. Fun times. Go Bulls.
