Mark Messier. He’s the first #11 that comes to mind; pretty good hockey player. Actually work with someone at the job that has the same exact name. He told us stories about how he would go up to Canada, and restaurants would see his name on the reservations, and go nuts. Nope, wrong Mark Messier… haha. Isaiah Thomas. Yeah, another number eleven that I think about. He’s a rare guy from Chicago that I really dislike; I don’t think I have to get into the details behind it. The fact this guy is still hating on MJ… pathetic.

How about guys that played for Chicago teams that wore the double one? I had to look this up; drawing a complete fricking blank. Don Kessinger for the Cubs was before my time. Ron Cey was the first Cub player that I recall with that number. Rey Sanchez, Yu Darvish among others. On that other baseball team, Luis Aparicio is a pretty famous one. Rudy Law was a guy that I watched play; Omar Vizquel came along later. Of course Darnell Mooney wears this number today for our Bears; hopefully he will make a name for himself. Some other NOT so notable WRs donned this number as well, like Roy Williams and Kevin White. For the Bulls, pretty damn good player wearing this number; DeMar DeRozan… can’t believe I drew a blank on this one. Ronnie Brewer I liked; Sam Vincent back in the day. For the Blackhawks, Taylor Raddysh is wearing 11 currently. Andrew Desjardins, John Madden are a couple other guys. I think that pretty much covers it.

OK, so why the heck am I talking about the number eleven today? Well, glad you asked. Today is my 11th wedding anniversary; best damn 11 years of my life thank you very much… haha. This shit ain’t easy. I think about my parents… they’ll hit 52 years this year; crazy! How the heck did they do it? Anybody that is married, anybody that stays married for a long time, fricking kudos to you! Wouldn’t things be a whole hell of a lot easier being single? Yes, yes they would; I don’t think there is any disputing that. How the heck do I deal with my wife day in and day out; how the heck does she deal with me?!?! Merging two very individual people into one is no easy task, yet, I always tell myself that it is all worth it; I do believe that. There is the whole kid thing… haha. I’ll be talking about him in a few days as he hits double digits; what the hell?!?! Where did the time go? I must be getting old…

As I think about marriage, and my wife, I think about the term one and done. That’s right, like the 85 Bears and the 2016 Cubs, we are a great team; there was never a repeat for those teams… there will never be a repeat for me. I know, I know… never say never, but when it comes to wives, there was and still is, only one for me. Crazy right? Haha.. Happy Anniversary Babe! Ready to sign another extension???
