The 2nd meeting between the Lakers and the Bulls went down on Wednesday night at the UC; it didn’t go as well as the first time around. The Lakers got their little payback, and the Bulls, well, they just continued to do what they do… what they have been doing all season long. Let Down city…
It was another “kid from Chicago” who stole the show in this one. Packer fan Anthony Davis led the way with 38 points; when he’s healthy… don’t worry about it. Glass Joe will go down with another ailment soon. He got 11 of those points from the free throw line, which brings me to something I saw last night. Did you see that stat they flashed on the screen last night? The largest FT attempt differential in the NBA this season belongs to… Well, the Magic are +139, the Knicks are +145, the Heat are +183, and the Kings are +193; that seems like a lot, until you see how much the team leading this statistical category is at, the same team that was visiting the UC, the same team that had 30 free throws to the Bulls 13 in this one. Yes, it’s none other than the Lakers (big surprise); they have a +411 FT differential this season… more than twice the next closest team; wtf?!?! Yeah, the NBA and the refs are proving what we always say; they’ll do anything they can to help LeBron… he needs all the help he can get by the way, because he ain’t doing shit by himself. But more than double the next closest team??? It’s so obvious, and honestly, something that should be investigated, but it won’t be… they’re bold like that.
I’m not going to blame that for the Bulls loss on Wednesday night, but it’s hard to ignore, especially when you see how the entire season has been called FOR the Lakers; what a fricking joke. But when your $40M dollar man takes only 2 shots from behind the arc the whole game, and ends up with only 16 points… Yeah, it’s like second nature… blaming Zach for a Bulls loss. I’m sorry? Not really… the ups and downs of the Bulls, the inconsistent play, the frustrating play is embodied in Lavine. He has his great moments, but he has far too many down moments, like this one against the Lakers. Sure, Pat Bev poured in a total of ZERO points in this one, and Austin Reaves from the Lakers, one of the beneficiaries of all the foul calls the Lakers get, got a little “too small” payback on way to his 19 points, but it’s this sub-par effort from Zach that really sticks out. It never helps when the Bulls dig themselves an early hole…
Why is it that the second I get a little excited about the Bulls again is exactly the moment when they fall flat? Thankfully I didn’t bet on them in this one. And yeah, LBJ got his 25 points in this one, avenging his embarrassment from Sunday… haha… that will always make me laugh. The Lakers are now 500! Start planning the parade down Figueroa Los Angeles “fans”!!! Haha… can’t wait for them to get pasted by a real team in the postseason, which will most likely be the same fate for our Bulls.
Until then, 6 games remain; surely the Bulls won’t mess these up so much that the Wizards, currently 2 games back from our 10 spot, catch us, right? At this point, nothing will surprise me about the Bulls. I have to go into each game I sit down to watch with zero expectations; this way I can be happily surprised when they do well, and when they turn in another clunker, like Wednesday night, just let it slide off my back… see you in Charlotte on Friday.
