March 28, 2016: Can’t Turn Away

posted in: Bulls | 3

It’s like I can’t take my eyes off of this. No matter how rough it gets to watch, I just can’t turn away.  I’m almost wanting to see it get even worse…how low can you go?  This is what this 2016 Bulls season has become.

As some have recently compared Hoiberg to Trestman, I compare this Bulls team to those horrendous 2014 Bears. Will this be the second Chicago sports team to make the Hate Files?  It’s not official yet, but we’re already making room.

So I finally turn the game off for a minute; only to watch one Peppa Pig episode before my son goes to sleep.  And I wonder just how bad it’s getting. The Hawks have already beat us by 15, 15, and 23 points this year. A team that is headed in the complete opposite direction going 13-3 in March.  So I take to the blog…

I can’t include Taj Gibson in this feeling of hate. The one guy that gives all he’s got every single game. The guy who has been regularly banged up…partly because he’s the only one battling for offensive rebounds after Noah went out…yet, doesn’t complain.  Playing through all injuries, putting his team first, he is definitely an oddity on this team. I wonder what he really thinks about everything that’s went on here.  I wonder what he really thinks about some of his teammates.

Time to flip the game back on. 90-81 was the score. Then it happened…a 10-2 bulls run to cut it to one. The Bulls were playing great. These are the Bulls we miss. They show their faces only in spurts nowadays. It’s a quarter here, a quarter there. If they played like this regularly, we’d be in much better shape. The Bulls fell back down by 5 when Hoiberg called a timeout.

He drew up a play and it worked!  Butler with a trey and a foul. Bulls within one. Hawks made their FTs. Hoiberg back to the drawing board. This time, the call was Dunleavy to the hoop!???  Wouldn’t have been my first choice. And the guy who scored 7 points in that 10-2 run wasn’t even on the court.  Don’t you feed the hot hand? It looked like Aaron Brooks was pissed too.

The Bulls lost again. They played better, but not well enough. Atlanta is just the better team…so is Cleveland, so is Miami, so are 8 total teams in the East.  I guess that’s what it comes down to. I don’t want to believe it, but the facts are the facts. The Bulls are the 9th best team in the East; it’s almost official.  It’s almost time to turn away completely until next year.

watched the last 6 minutes and agree with the last minute grouping on the court. ab had been lighting it up, and with the game on the line, he’s on the bench? i think that play was actually drawn up for a dunleavy 3 attempt, but that wasn’t there and he broke to the hoop. at any rate, why would the rest of the team play ‘keep away’ with the hot hand. not hoiberg, but the guys on the floor who also had to know that ab was hot. a real head-scratcher……. ok another head-scratcher in a long season of the same.

Nobody is leading this team right now. Too many problems to name them all, but it starts with fredberg never getting this team’s attention. Noah was a leader who was basically demoted before getting hurt. Drose has no credibility as a leader based on his injuries and dumbass comments. Butler may be trying but is not there yet. Pau is ready for another team to not play defense on. This Bulls team is a complete trainwreck that looks fully content to miss the playoffs. Hope they enjoy the early vacation as some may not make it back to the Bulls.
