Thursday 16 games; Friday 16 games. How much college basketball can I watch? 8 games Saturday? 8 more Sunday? It’s March Madness and I love it. Give it all to me… more please!
How are your brackets looking? They shouldn’t be bad… unless you went with a ton of underdogs, because the chalk has been prevailing. Chalk=favorites if you don’t know. All of the 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds made it through the first round; that doesn’t happen that often. We did see McNeese State take out Clemson before getting dominated by Purdue on Saturday. I love the equipment manager with the NIL deal… walking out with the team and the radio bumping some tunes. My son was loving it! Too bad he couldn’t suit up for them and help them out against Purdue in Saturday’s first 2nd round game; ouch!
Colorado State moved on, as did Arkansas; actually, Colorado State was favored in that 5 vs 12 matchup with Memphis… I still almost went with Memphis… almost. Actually, I didn’t do bad on my bets. I try not to tie my bets into my bracket selections, although that wouldn’t have went so bad. I started off on Creighton in the first game on Thursday; I feel like that’s always the best game… that first one on Thursday morning. It was for me. I was also on Purdue; they covered like champs. Montana let me down against the Badgers; they had 2 chances to cover at the end of the game, but couldn’t pull through for me. BYU was a winner later on Thursday as well… not a bad first day in the DK account. Coming off last year’s destruction in the tourney, I was happy.
I was all over Ole Miss on Friday against NC; 3x my normal bet, which cashed thankfully. I did play back NC on the ML in game to provide myself a little insurance at huge odds, which almost came into play; that was a good game. The rest of the day didn’t go as well. Bryant hung with the Spartans for a while before getting crushed. Liberty against Oregon was a complete joke; what an idiot pick that was… haha. The other game I took an L on in the first round was Marquette; that was a shocker. I don’t regret that play. Overall, a winning first round, and brackets still in good shape too.
Saturday I fell into the McNeese love… woof! Thankfully I did stay away from St. John’s… I was THIS close… BYU came through for me again, yes sir! While Tennessee over UCLA was a no-sweat bet. Closing out Saturday, I was still looking good… except my NHL plays have been dog crap lately. There’s always something.
Sunday will be more of the same. I’ve really been watching a lot of the games thus far; ain’t mad at that. Between my son’s science project and the basketball games, it’s been fun. Can I keep the positive momentum through Sunday’s games? Let’s talk some more college hoops next.
