So I tuned into watch Tuesday night’s showdown. The Blackhawks hosted the conference leading Stars. It was ugly.
Our Blackhawks have been in a rut; we’ve talked about this. It’s that regular season rut that we’ve been through before. It’s that wake me up when it’s the playoffs rut..or is it? Is it time to press the panic button?
I’m not pressing it, but I’ve got my eye on it. The belief that I have, and many other fans, is that the Hawks will turn it on when it counts. We believe that because they’ve done it. Three Stanley Cups give us a ton of confidence…maybe too much. I remember being very confident back in 2014; we’ve been over this as well.
Turning it on is a dangerous proposition. It’s great to have that other level, that other gear to shift into too, not all teams do. Yet, it’s not that easy. It’s not like the flip of a switch. It’s leaning heavily on experience, the been there done that factor, and that’s why I still believe they can do it. Still, it’s not full proof.

Meanwhile, the veins that usually cialis discounts carry blood away from the penis impotence problem. One thing to note is that our team co-MVP has been out. Yes, Hossa is back, Kane has never been out, and Kruger is still out; I’m talking about Crow. Darling is a nice backup. I remember talking like he could be a number one…like Crow was dispensable. I think we’ve learned otherwise. Getting Crow back and healthy and in rhythm may be one of the keys to our playoff performance. He’s been huge all year; we’ll need him to be the same in the postseason.
Our rookie of the year has been slumping as of late. He’s never played in the Stanley Cup playoffs. What are we to expect from him? Same goes for his linemate Anisimov. They’ve both been great at times, Panarin pretty much all year, but neither has that experience like Sharpie and Saad would have provided. We really haven’t missed them in the regular season; I hope we don’t miss them now.
And the other new pieces…they’re probably not 100% gelled yet. This is the time to get to that place, if there’s enough time. Getting the above mentioned Kruger back on the ice would be huge too, especially for that penalty kill unit. We’re not seeing the Hawks fire on all cylinders yet; that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Yet, it’s not a good thing either. Worry starts to creep in, even though we feel we should know better. We can’t help ourselves. Hawk panic, like any other team is inevitable. We’ve been to the top, and we’ve been stopped short. We remember the cups, but have not forgotten about the others. Panic or not, it won’t last for long. The Stanley Cup playoffs are right around the corner.

Never should have gotten rid of Big Buff. Never should have gotten rid of Saad. Never should have gotten rid of Sharpie. Darling is fine when the defense does it’s job. Looking lazy and lackadaisical.
I think Q needs to change the defensive scheme a bit. Teams have seen the same routine and have found ways to exploit them. Add to that the inexperience at a few positions, and you have the recipe for what you’ve seen this past 2 weeks.
Bring me back and maybe ‘Steeger (maybe not after his toews comments).

Confidence vs cockiness. I would like to think we as fans are just confident that our Hawks will turn it on when it matters, but maybe that is not realistic. We do not know the Hawks have that extra gear. We think they do based on past performances, but every year is a little different. Teams are hungrier, constantly gunning for the Hawks, and maybe that is wearing them down. The injuries, especially crow and kruger still being out, seem to have taken a toll. The new blood mixed in with the core, possibly still not gelled 100%. The departure of playoff tested guys like sharp, saad, and a huge Dman in oduya. All of this adds up to questions about the Hawks upcoming playoff run. With all that said, I am confident in a team that has 3 Cups in 6 years. I am confident that crow and kruger come back strong to help, and Q gets the lines gelling the way they need to be. Playoff hockey is right around the corner…time to focus on a repeat. I’m ready! You have to believe the Hawks are or will be. Limp into the playoffs and then carry that Cup around the UC again!
GO HAWKS!!!
