Thursday night brings us the battle of the streaks. It’s our Bulls with a 17 game winning streak at home on TNT vs the Warriors who haven’t lost back to back games in 145 regular season games. Who you got?
I don’t care that it’s the Warriors. It’s hard to watch the Bulls play, and I love the Bulls. Not sure if it’s seeing our window open then closed so quickly, or seeing one of the best NBA coaches replaced with a so-so college coach, or seeing all of Thibs Bulls go, or the fact that GarPax have no plan… Maybe it’s all of the above. It’s not easy to root for my own damn team. But I still do.
These are the times where die hards shine through, or stand up and protest? I read about the proposed protest this weekend at the UC, with a few dozen people wearing FireGarPx shirts and coming up with a few chants. That ain’t going to get it done. No, unfortunately, us as the fans are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The Bulls refuse to sell, change management, or change coaches because the Bulls are still the biggest home draw in the NBA. When the money is coming in and the profits are healthy, why change? So the real way to show the ownership our dissatisfaction and force their hand is to not go to the games? You see how we get screwed here?
We love our Bulls. They are our team. Don’t care who owns them, who the GM is, who the coach is, or even who the players are. We will root for our Chicago Bulls come hell or high water. We deserve better. I mean, it took old man Wirtz to die to see a turnaround with the Blackhawks. It took Ricketts and Epstein to finally give us glory as Cubs fans. And the Warriors…their streak would be a bit more impressive if they didn’t lose 3 in a row to blow last year’s Finals. Yeah, both streaks ain’t all they’re cracked up to be. Go figure how the Bulls are 17-0 on tnt thursday nights. An obvious fluke record but still. Wonder what the Bulls/gsw line was. Would be hard not to take the Bulls. Just seemed like a game they might show up as gsw rolls into town with no kd. Just the thought of another gsw/cle final makes me sick…kind of like the Bulls play this year. I mean we thought .500 team, which is what they are, but the way things have unfolded is really what makes things frustrating. Another frustrating thing, deron williams and bogut signing with cle.
