OK, so we’ll dedicate one blog to the brackets… my brackets, not like anybody cares.
Everybody is on Michigan State and Kansas, and for that reason, I am not. You remember the football picks right? And my fantasy against the grain plays? I don’t like jumping on that bandwagon that everybody is riding. In fact, it makes me wish for their demise. Kind of like Golden State, although we all know there are other reasons there. However, no matter how crazy the first couple rounds of the tournament are, the top seeds are generally there in the end.
Let’s start with those first couple rounds. I check the Vegas odds and compare it to the seeding to figure out my upsets… unless I just have a feeling, which I’m not sure why I would have a feeling, consider I don’t really have any feelings about college basketball period. Yes, it’s going to be this type of post… aimlessly rambling. Going with Hawaii, the recent winners of yesterday’s play in game Wichita St, Yale, Northern Iowa, Gonzaga, and Fresno St as my big upsets. I don’t really count a 10 over a 7 or a 9 over an 8. So 6 seeds 11 or lower will win first round… fat chance. Out of those 6 low seeds, I’m only taking Yale and Gonzaga to move to the Sweet Sixteen. That would be sweet.

That’s where it gets interesting. I’m taking Maryland over Kansas, Miami over Nova, and Indiana over NC, as half of the top seeds don’t make the elite eight. And onto the Final 4…. drum roll please… Maryland, Oklahoma, Xavier, and Virginia. So a #5, 2 #2’s, and 1 #1. Not exactly a formula for success, but nowadays, this is a lot more possible than it once was. In fact, it’s very possible… even worse than this. With guys staying longer at these lesser conference schools, it makes for interesting matchups with the one and done giants. I would love to see a 16 win one day… it will happen. This year?
Even a 15 winning would be sweet. The Spartans losing first round! Ha! I get tired of all the MSU alums around the city… still recovering from their football team getting wiped out by Bama. Plus, they have the potential to go through Chicago on their way… I’ll see those damn Spartan flags everywhere.
OK back to my winning bracket… IF I pony up the $20 to enter it in. Oklahoma vs Xavier in the finals, with the winner: OK. I said I would pick them, and I will. How will this bracketology play out? It’s anyone’s guess. I just hope to watch some of the first round. It will be a few action packed sports days in a row, starting Wednesday. I’m out!

Nova winning it all!
Anything can and usually does happen in March Madness, and msu said bye bye already!
College basketball and this tourney are so much better to watch than the nba. These guys actually run an offense and play defense, usually.
Sit back and enjoy…superNOVA time!
