Ok, now that I have that out of my system… There’s been some other things going on with our Bears. Most notably, another big name departure.
Alshon left and signed with the Eagles. I don’t know about you, but I’m not shedding any tears. Yes, I did think the Bears should have franchised him. With the cap space, it was worth it. But, the powers that be didn’t think so. Maybe it was more a matter of cleaning house than anything.
It’s finally going to be Pace’s team. Finally, the mess that Emery and Trestman left is gone. I really do think last year was rock bottom for the Pace Bears, and that now the arrow will be pointed up. After all, you can’t get much worse than 3-13.
All these guys…I don’t care if they leave. We haven’t won anything. Why should I care who stays and goes? The guys that I got pissed about letting go were Forte and Gould; before that Urlacher and Hester. I felt pissed off in those cases. But these guys..nope.
When Marshall left, no love loss. Bennett? Crazy ass, bye. And now he won a Super Bowl; good for him. And now he’s with the Pack? I hope we crack that dude. Now Alshon. Tell me again why I should be devastated about it.
Was it his knack for always getting hurt? Don’t think he made it through a full season. My bet is he doesn’t make it through this year without missing a couple games. Maybe it was his decision making that I’ll miss. The PED suspension last year just showed you how dumb this guy was. Innocent mistake? Stupid mistake! Or maybe it was because he wanted to be here so bad. Another aloof character off the field, he never really seemed comfortable in the big city. You thought Bears fans were rough, good luck in Philly.

Anybody that doesn’t want to be here, shouldn’t be here. Hey, didn’t he guarantee a Super Bowl after last year’s 3-13 year? Dumb ass. And now, like that, he’s gone. On to the next one.
And the next ones are Markus Wheaton and Kendall Wright for starters. Cameron Meredith should be in the mix. And let’s not forget about, although it’s easy to do, Mr. Kevin White. This will be his last year to show that he wasn’t a complete bust of a first round pick. Another guy who can’t stay on the field. I hope he does, so we could see what he’s got. In my son’s school fund raiser, I won an autographed Kevin White football. Make that value grow Kevin!
Yes, the reshaping of the Bears continues. A few nice additions in the secondary creates at least some depth, if nothing else. My question is where does this leave us with the number three pick?
I like the idea of going defense; the best available defender at that time. I’d love to get an absolute stud…a defensive rookie of the year front runner…future all pro…a guy whose jersey I can buy my son. Slam that first pick and then wait. Wait to see which of the top QBs slip. Maybe trade up in the late first to get your guy. Or, if we’re lucky enough, watch him slip into our laps in the second round. We still do need to draft a QB; I don’t think there is any dispute there.
I’m a bit excited. Looking forward to the draft for sure. Can’t believe they moved it out of Chicago this year; would have been perfect. Nope, it’s in Philly…maybe Alshon can announce their pick. And maybe he’ll guarantee a Super Bowl with his new team. Either way, I don’t care. You won zippo here. Good luck there. And good luck to Pace and company. Let’s hope they prove they really know what they’re doing. Bear Down!

Thanks, great article.

Thought the Bears should have franchised alshon, too, but oh well. Clean house is right. If these guys are not going to make next year better or any years after that, good bye. Time to cut the dead weight and find guys that want to be here and will be productive on the field for 16 games. Have fun in philly alshon. Wheaton and Wright are definitely not big name receivers. Add Meredith and White to the mix and the Bears have another receiving corp that will put fear in nobody. That does not mean that these guys cannot be productive. Maybe Glennon can bring out the best in these guys and whoever else is on offense.
Some other defensive signings show that the Bears are making moves at the very least. Will they be the right ones? Stay tuned. No big name splashes yet, but maybe the Bears will hit it big in the draft. Keep adding ingredients to the pot, hope they mix well, and come out next year ready to make the playoffs. BEAR DOWN!!!

If both White,Wheaton and Wright are all healthy and play a full 16 games, we should be good at WR. Wide Receivers are made not drafted now a days. If the offensive scheme benefits their talents then yes, we are good. However, Wheaton is about 5’11 and Wright is about 5’10…..too short by todays standards. A decent CB will eat them alive. They can only be effective on the inside, and only 10-15 yards away. Bears need an outside deep threat which Jefferies was…..need to fill the void!
