There is no bad gift, right? The Bulls were gift wrapped a win on Wednesday night in Detroit; there is a reason the Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA. Calling a timeout down 2 with under 10 seconds remaining when they didn’t have a timeout was just what the Bulls needed to avoid adding another blown 20 point lead to their resume. I’ll say the same thing to this Pistons team, that I did to that other Pistons team back in the day that helped make MJ and the Bulls become a dynasty: Thank You!
Yeah, as some things change, some things stay the same. The Bulls are now 3-1 in the Pat Bev era; we’ll take it. The Bulls were absolutely coasting in this one, when, yep, the wheels came off; it’s unbelievable how many times we’ve seen them do this to us. I like how Adam and Stacey were commenting how this should be a game Donovan should be able to rest his starters in the 4th… have you been watching the same team we have? No lead is safe; it doesn’t matter the opponent. If you think the Bulls had this one in the bank, then you had another thing coming. Pat Bev or not, not sure about you, but I still cannot trust this team. They said another funny thing when they said “Zach Lavine time in the 4th quarter”… since when has the 4th quarter been “Zach Lavine time”… like never. Did you see Zach stretching out by hanging from the rim when he came back in the game in the 4th? Remind you of anybody. Yes, as if Zach wasn’t annoying enough, now he’s doing a Carlos Boozer move, one of the most annoying Bulls in his own right. Yes, Zach poured in 40, but was pretty non-existent down the stretch as the Bulls squandered away another lead.
I saw Pat Bev and Vooch have a “discussion” after an easy attempt by the Pistons; Pat was right. Vooch wasn’t even paying attention to the ball, and the guy simply drove right past him; I was shocked Vooch was arguing about it. But we have gotten used to this type of defense from him; thankfully Pat Bev is not accepting it. Although I saw Pat Bev arguing about a foul that was called on him that was clearly a foul; I hate when guys do that. If you fouled the guy, you don’t have to raise your hand; you rarely see that any more. But don’t complain and whine, especially when it was clearly a foul… good God. Yeah, this game had all the ingredients of another horrendous Bulls loss, but the Pistons saved us, by doing the most stupid thing all night. Again, thank you Detroit.
I guess I should just be happy with this gift, but somehow, I’m not. It’s because nothing has changed. Although the Bulls have went 3-1 over their last 4 games, it won’t last. Sure, Pat Bev has provided a spark, like I thought he would, but that won’t last either. Yet, the Bulls will still be ticketed for that play-in game; at least we’ll have one playoff game to look forward too… not much more than that though. The beat goes on for Chicago sports… the beat goes on…
