June 7, 2016: Return to Sender

All good things must come to an end.  No, I’m not quitting the blog, just returning from vacation.  Let’s put a bow on it before we get back into the matrix.

The best part of vacation is getting away from the day to day grind.  Now I love the day to day grind, but it sometimes can be just that.  Part of the day to day is the posting of this blog.  We did step away for a minute, but with some retro entries, and a summary of my vacation that I’m sure everybody is enjoying, we will be returning.

How does one do that?  The first day back from vacation is brutal.  Let me rephrase that… the first day at work after a vacation is brutal.  I feel like I need to read a book to figure it out.  How do you recover from a 2,000 email hole?

OK, not your problem, and as usual, this blog helps me get through these times.  Let’s just say, don’t ask me if I love my job on the first day back from vacation.  I’m sure everyone can agree with that.

Furthermore, ordering levitra from canada uniqkey%.html online is actually be the best remedy for these conditions. If you are generic tadalafil 20mg willing to indulge in intercourse that there is a drift created which prospects to un-satisfaction. Most levitra online pharmacy people claim that these treatments don’t cure ED. No doubt, these methods are helpful for strengthening a relationship but seeking best medical help may cut down the cost of expensive cialis prices. But back to LA for just a second… The last full day included a visit to Hollywood, which started with a visit to Tommy’s.  Tommy’s was one of my favorite places to eat in LA.  I felt like it was a place that should be located in Chicago.  They serve chili cheeseburgers… delicious ones.  I really loved the breakfast sandwiches, which were egg, cheese, sausage, and chili between 2 buns.  Unbelievable.  Like a brick in my stomach… kept me from eating the rest of the day.  And as I adjusted to LA food back a number of years ago, this was one of those first meals that stuck to my ribs… made me feel good inside.  Yes, I’m only talking about a burger joint.  So I had to grab one before I left, and I did.

After that remained only one thing… and that was to visit my west coast family.  We enjoyed a great lunch together at another one of our favorite joints, El Compadre.  My wife and I stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere to eat many years ago; sometimes those are the best ones.  This one was, and we enjoyed another memorable afternoon there on this final day of our vacation.  It was great to see everyone I worked with when I was in LA; they are really awesome.  They are what I miss about LA too.

So to the airport… John Wayne airport that is for the return to Chicago.  With my Bears shirt, and my son and I with our Cubs hats, there was no doubt where we were from.  They did have a pretty cool display in the airport about the history of the Angels.  From the LA Angels, to the California Angels, to the Anaheim Angels, and now, the Los Angeles Angels again.  You know the whole naming thing is all about money right?  I mean, Anaheim is like 25 miles from LA.  It’s not even LA County… it’s Orange County.  From talking to someone at the airport, the fans were not fans of the name change that was fought for in court… but it happened anyways.  It would be like a Chicago team playing in Joliet named the Chicago whatever…. kind of like the guy in the airport that told me he was from Chicago, but when I asked whereabouts, he said Joliet…. strange.

Return to sender was our direction, and we landed in Chicago late Wednesday evening.  And that, as they say, is that.  At least the weather was nice… now what the heck has been going on with our teams?  Let’s find out.

Vacations are definitely needed…a break from the grind and work.
The naming thing would be like the sox moving to aurora but still keeping the Chicago name…weird!
Want to be called Chicago, stay there!
