The NBA and NHL final series take us coast to coast. From Oakland to Washington DC, the action thus far has been enjoyable.
OK, yeah, so I am rooting for Vegas to win, but I’m not going to be upset if they don’t. And although the Capitals wouldn’t have been my choice to win it all, I’m OK with it. It certainly looks like that will happen, as they grabbed a 3-1 series lead in the Stanley Cup Finals. I really thought Vegas was going to pull this out; they still may. Isn’t it funny that this was the first time they were favorites in a series? I still see this series coming back to Washington, and with their history of blowing 3-1 series leads, it may very well make it back to Vegas… again. If it gets to a Game 7, I definitely think Vegas takes it. After watching last night though, that is hard to imagine.
Michael Kempny did it again for the Capitals. You’re welcome! Just another ex-Blackhawk doing great things out there in the NHL world. I’m ready to see the Blackhawks back in the playoffs, although like I’ve already said, they would have gotten smoked in these playoffs; there was a reason they didn’t make it. Hoping for a better year next year…
And that brings us to Oakland, the first site of the NBA Finals. Golden State crushed Cleveland in Game 2 taking a 2-0 series lead. OK, it was closer than the final score indicated, but still… And yes, I know some say a series is only a series when the road team wins, but if Golden State wins Game 3 in Cleveland, you can wake the fat lady.

Yes, we all know Cleveland came back from a 3-1 lead to beat the 73 win Warriors team. I hated a lot less on that achievement than I normally would have considering who the baseball champs were and all… I just think (and really really hope) that this series is over. Have you seen a couple of the Lebum things out there?
Like the couple minutes after JR Smith pulled off his boneheaded play… It was the queen, Smith, and Hill all sitting on the bench. While both Hill and Smith looked devastated for their mishaps to end the game, James sat by himself sulking. I mean, the game wasn’t over at that point. It was tied, and going to OT. Korver tried to pump his teammates up… more than what can be said about their “leader”. Sad.
And how about the clip of him not playing defense again in Game 2? It’s one thing to play poor defense, it’s another to not even run down to that end of the court. After a missed layup, Lebron just walks up the court, letting the Warriors setup a play, and eventually scoring (because they were playing 5-4), as he slowly walked up the court. Pathetic.
Let’s put him out of his misery already… please. And let’s hope for a bit of a Vegas comeback… at least to get the series back to DC, so Nationals fans can be all pissed off about Bryce Harper wearing his Golden Knight jersey (with his Cubs jersey underneath). Seasons winding down…
